Our Printing Blanket Belts are back in stock!

These belts are a combination of our decomissioned fire-hose with reclaimed printing blanket.

Those of you dont know what printing blankets are - The off-set printing industry, the one that prints 1000’s of leaflets at a time, uses a synthetic, composite textile to transfer ink from the roller onto the paper. If the blanket is damaged or wears out it can no longer be used as any defect would appear on every single leaflet. Due to their composite structure this material can't be recycled by traditional means. We reclaim these blankets, clean them up, re-engineer them and create a new (vintage) raw material and make beautiful accessories out of them.

We collect tea sacks from , it is a multi-layer kraft paper sack, but it can't be recycled because the final layer is laminated to foil and polyethylene. We collect them, separate the layers, iron them flat, and then print our leaflet on them or stitch them into envelopes.

Back in 2022, we began the planting and stewardship of over 4,000 trees and bushes as part of our regenerative farm. We planted a diverse mix of native species: Cobnut, Cherry, Cherry Plum, Plum, Apple, Pear, Mulberry, Sea Buckthorn, Dogwood, Birch, Medlar, Juniper, Rose, Cistus, Arbutus, Pine, Holly, Oak, Scots Pine, Elder, and many more.

We weren't linking these trees to purchases. We weren't using them as an offset. We were just doing it; a farm that gives back to the land it depends on is a healthier more resilient one.

Four years on, the trees are still young, but they're no longer just saplings and we're starting to see the first real signs of what's to come. Last year we had our first handfuls of plums and apples. This year many of the other trees are bearing fruit too. We have more shade, more habitat for birds, food for ourselves and all of the creatures on the farm. It is still early days, but our trees have taken root and are giving back, alongside the wider benefits we're already seeing for the soil and biodiversity here.

It's a good reminder that this kind of work doesn't show its full value overnight. You plant, you tend, you wait. This is a joyful and challenging conversation with nature that will outlast our lifetimes.
