Not every market is about buying things.

Sometimes it's about discovering something you didn't know existed: A piece of artwork created just a few miles away; A handmade gift with a story behind it; A conversation with the person who actually made what they're selling.

That's what you'll find at Best of Faversham.

Tomorrow, for the first time in two years, Preston Street will once again be filled with talented local makers, artists, craftspeople and independent businesses offering everything from handmade gifts and artwork to artisan food, homeware and unique creations you simply won't find on the High Street.

If you enjoy supporting local talent, browsing at your own pace and finding something a little different, come and spend an hour or two with us.

🛍️ Easter Weekend in Faversham = Three Markets, One Brilliant Visit

This coming Easter Weekend (Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th April) is one of Faversham’s popular Triple Market Weekends — when all three town centre markets come together across one weekend.

Saturday
Faversham Charter Market (Market Place)
Best of Faversham Artisan Market

Sunday
Faversham Antiques & Decorative Market (Market Place)

It’s the perfect time to visit, with the town centre full of stalls, traders and visitors — and plenty to explore across both days.

What you’ll find:
• Fresh food, everyday essentials and plants
• Locally made crafts, gifts and artisan products
• Antiques, vintage pieces and decorative finds

Whether you’re stocking up, browsing for something unique, or just enjoying a wander, there’s something here for everyone.

And beyond the markets, Faversham itself is well worth the trip — with its historic streets, independent shops, cafés and places to eat all within easy walking distance.

🚶‍♂️ Just a short walk from Faversham station
🚗 Easy parking close to the town centre

If you’ve not experienced a full market weekend in Faversham before, this is the one to start with.

Planning an Easter Sunday wander?

Here’s something a little different.

While the big supermarkets take the day off, Faversham’s historic town centre will be hosting the Faversham Antiques & Decorative Market on Sunday 5th April.

From 8am to 3pm, Market Place and Court Street will be filled with:
✨ antiques
✨ vintage finds
✨ decorative pieces
✨ and plenty of “you don’t see that every day” moments

It’s the kind of market where you come for a look…
and leave with a story.

Whether you’re visiting for the day or local to the area, it’s a lovely way to spend a slower Easter Sunday.

🌸 Mother’s Day is this Sunday.

One of the loveliest sights at the market in the run-up to Mother’s Day is the flower stall - full of fresh roses and bouquets waiting to be chosen.

Amy's Flowers will be in Court Street this Saturday, and flowers are always one of the most popular ways to brighten Mum’s day.

And while you’re choosing something special, it’s worth taking a wander around the rest of the market too. You’ll find plenty of thoughtful ideas including:

• Fresh breads and baked treats
• Local produce and deli favourites
• Handmade items and small gifts

Sometimes the nicest gifts aren’t the biggest ones - they’re simply chosen with a little care.

There’s a moment that happens again and again on a market morning in Faversham.

A conversation across a stall…
A bit of browsing…
And then something changes hands.

In this photo it’s Roy Yard of Roy’s Bargains, a familiar face on Faversham Charter Market for around twenty years and a firm favourite with regular shoppers.

Roy’s stock shifts with the seasons.

Right now he’s moving into spring, with gardening bits and pieces starting to appear — including those distinctive Tree of Life plant pots you can see in the photo.

Moments like this are what give traditional market towns their character.

And this Saturday you’ll see even more of them - because alongside the regular Charter Market stalls, the Best of Faversham artisan traders will also be in town.

All part of a proper market morning.

Some things are still better in person.

Seeing the detail up close.... Meeting the maker.
Hearing the story behind the piece you’re holding.

You can’t feel craftsmanship through a screen... You can’t replace that human connection.

That’s what markets do best.

Court Street and Market Place this Sunday — antiques, character, conversation… and yes, possibly a touch of Kentish drizzle.

A good rummage waits for no forecast.
