Even in the height of summer, you can still get away from the crowds and enjoy the scenery on the RSPB reserve at The Ring Of Brodgar. It's one of my favourite spots, and there's a picnic bench down by the lochside-perfect for a flask and a sandwich. Is it just my generation that likes to do that sort of thing?

If you're interested in archaeology, then you may know that Sir Tony Robinson and the Time Team are currently investigating a strange anomaly at The Ness of Brodgar at the moment.

The Ness is at the Heart of Neolithic Orkney and is a World Heritage Site. It dates back over 5000 years. Mind blowing! I can see The Ness, which is between the Ring of Brodgar and the Stones of Stenness, from my house. It is in the distance, but even so, it's still pretty amazing!

Here's my tea bag art offering - an autumnal scene of part of the Ring of Brodgar. A little piece of history in art.

This is my third piece of tea bag art and it is available at the Aurora shop in Shetland, along with coasters and cards of this scene of Minn Beach, Burra.

The scenery in Shetland is stunning. It's quite different from Orkney - much more rugged and spread out. I was able to use this photo by kind permission of the amazing Donna Smith. Please check out her amazing hand dyed wools and knitting patterns ( some of which I've knitted myself) .

If you would like a little piece of Shetland, then maybe this is for you!

If any Shetlanders have any other teabag art suggestions, please let me know! I'd love to hear from you.

I've had a lovely few weeks with family staying and helping them move into their new home in Orkney. Arty stuff has been on the back burner, as time with the grandchildren has taken priority. Walks, trips to the beach, watching tractors in the fields, ferries to other islands, and catching frogs in the garden have all been super fun, as the three year old would say. 😊

I'm picking up my paint brush and needle and thread again, starting to get creative. At the moment, I'm trying out a really tricky tea bag art scene, which is taking all my concentration. Let's hope it works out!

Oh my, these kelp colours are amazing! Absolutely gorgeous.

I'm usually drawn to greens and blues, but I'll make an exception here! I have some creative ideas going on, but I'll let them simmer away for a bit yet.

I do love a walk along the shore, never knowing what you'll find. It's a given that I'll feel better for it. The salty air, sand between my toes, seabreeze, and sunshine. What could be better?

I've been working on some new teabag bag art pieces, this time outside of Orkney. It's been exciting trying out some new scenes, and a little challenging, but that's a good thing. Will reveal more soon, and the location, but maybe you've already guessed!

Last night's walk at Skaill beach.

The seapink and sea squill looked stunning. Apart from the noise of the arctic turns along the shore, there was only the noise of the waves. Perfect.
