A perfect blend of texture, precision and practicality 👌

This project showcases a fresh direction with J2 Flooring tiles and strip detailing, moving away from traditional wood and herringbone to create a clean, contemporary finish throughout the home.

In the main living spaces, we installed J2 Flooring in NS63 (Earth Limestone), elevated with 3mm cream stripping to define the layout and add a subtle architectural detail.

A key part of this installation was the preparation. The subfloor was a gypsum-based anhydrite screed, which requires specialist treatment. We used a specialist primer and smoothing compound, as standard cement-based products would fail on this type of base. Correct preparation on anhydrite floors is absolutely essential for long-term performance and stability.

Every stage was carried out with precision to ensure a flawless finish.

A perfect blend of texture, pattern and practicality 👌

This project combines two beautiful flooring choices to create a warm, considered finish throughout the home.

The stairs feature Rolling Hills wool herringbone loop pile carpet in Eden Valley — bringing softness, texture and a timeless feel to the staircase.

In the living spaces, we installed J2 Flooring’s New Iconic range in the Tollymore small herringbone — an ultra-realistic design that gives the character of natural wood with all the practicality of LVT.

This J2 Flooring Naked Oak NT57 large plank LVT was expertly prepared and installed by Ricky, creating a clean, seamless finish.

One of the most challenging parts of this installation wasn’t the herringbone itself… it was the bullnose.

Unlike straight edges, a bullnose requires the border to follow a smooth curve while maintaining a consistent width all the way around. There’s no room for error; every cut has to be precise, and even the slightest variation becomes noticeable once the floor is installed.

Getting the border to flow naturally around the curve takes careful planning, patience, and plenty of skill. When it’s done properly, it looks effortless. When it isn’t, it’s one of the first things your eye is drawn to.

This is one of those details that often goes unnoticed by homeowners, but it’s exactly the sort of craftsmanship that separates a good installation from a great one 👌🏼👌🏼

A familiar favourite for a reason 👌

This project features Naked Oak herringbone with a large plank border — a combination that continues to be one of our most popular choices.

To overcome some challenging floor levels, we installed 12mm ply before finishing with a flexible smoothing compound, creating the perfect foundation for the flooring.

One detail we particularly love on this project is the way Ricky curved the border around the bullnose step. It’s a subtle feature, but achieving a smooth, flowing curve like this takes real skill, careful planning, and plenty of patience. The result is a finish that looks effortless, which is often the sign of the hardest work.
