The most overlooked part of flooring? The border.

When it comes to LVT, an aluminium border can take a floor from standard to something that feels much more bespoke.

It creates a crisp frame around the flooring, adds contrast and gives the whole installation a more considered, luxurious finish.

It’s only a small detail, but it can completely change the look of the finished floor.

And that’s often what makes a floor feel properly designed rather than simply fitted.

Green kitchen. Oak herringbone. Brass details. 👌

This one is a proper transformation.

We fitted Brampton Chase Natural Oiled Oak herringbone with a large plank border, finished with a brass aluminium inlay supplied by Stairrods UK Ltd.

But before any of that could go down, the very tired and loose ceramic tiles had to be uplifted and the floor brought back to a suitable level with two full coats of smoothing compound.

Once the prep was right, Dave could get to work and the result is a great example of how the right flooring, detailing and preparation can completely change a space.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about a beautifully fitted floor.

The clean lines, the perfect finish and knowing all the preparation and attention to detail underneath has paid off.

It’s what we do every day, but we never get tired of seeing the finished result.

Nothing beats a floor fitted properly.

From domestic to commercial.. we do it all 👌

This one was a little different, with Polyflor Polysafe Standard in Nordic Grey installed at Calthorpe Park School.

We uplifted a very tired carpet before preparing the subfloor with the correct specified smoothing compound. The Polyflor was then installed and, as required for commercial flooring, the joins were professionally welded to the correct specification.

For busy environments such as schools, this type of flooring offers a more hygienic, durable and long-lasting solution,
and it’s another great example of the versatility of our fitting team.

Whether it’s a family home, a commercial space or a large-scale project, we apply the same attention to detail and quality standards every time.

And this is just the beginning… We’ll be back at the school in a few weeks to tackle the canteen, before continuing through the building as part of a much larger project.

Taking flooring up a level 👌

This one features J2 Flooring in RT02 Golden Oak, fitted throughout the stairs and landing.

We used wrap-around aluminium nosings supplied by Stairrods UK Ltd, with RT02 inserts that we cut and fitted ourselves to create a seamless match with the flooring.

It’s the details like this that make the finished installation, clean, considered and built to last.

A perfect blend of texture, precision and practicality 👌

This project showcases a fresh direction with J2 Flooring tiles and strip detailing, moving away from traditional wood and herringbone to create a clean, contemporary finish throughout the home.

In the main living spaces, we installed J2 Flooring in NS63 (Earth Limestone), elevated with 3mm cream stripping to define the layout and add a subtle architectural detail.

A key part of this installation was the preparation. The subfloor was a gypsum-based anhydrite screed, which requires specialist treatment. We used a specialist primer and smoothing compound, as standard cement-based products would fail on this type of base. Correct preparation on anhydrite floors is absolutely essential for long-term performance and stability.

Every stage was carried out with precision to ensure a flawless finish.

A perfect blend of texture, pattern and practicality 👌

This project combines two beautiful flooring choices to create a warm, considered finish throughout the home.

The stairs feature Rolling Hills wool herringbone loop pile carpet in Eden Valley — bringing softness, texture and a timeless feel to the staircase.

In the living spaces, we installed J2 Flooring’s New Iconic range in the Tollymore small herringbone — an ultra-realistic design that gives the character of natural wood with all the practicality of LVT.

Two different materials, one seamless style.

This J2 Flooring Naked Oak NT57 large plank LVT was expertly prepared and installed by Ricky, creating a clean, seamless finish.

LVT is a great choice where access panels are needed, helping them blend into the floor while still remaining accessible.
