🦁 THE LION’S GATE 🦁

It’s 8/8, so let’s have a little chat about the Lion’s Gate.

You might have seen people talking about portals opening, huge energetic shifts and all sorts of cosmic goings-on. But what actually is it?

The Lion’s Gate is a modern spiritual tradition connected with the Sun being in Leo, the appearance of Sirius — the brightest star in our night sky — and the numerological significance of 8/8.

There is a much older story underneath it all.
The ancient Egyptians watched Sirius very closely. Its annual return to the morning sky happened around the time of the Nile’s annual flooding, which was absolutely vital to life, crops and prosperity. Sirius therefore became associated with renewal, abundance and the return of life.

Leo brings another layer to the symbolism.
The Lion is about courage, confidence, heart, strength and having the nerve to be yourself.

And then we have the number 8.
Turn it on its side and you've got infinity. It can represent cycles, balance, abundance and the continual flow between endings and beginnings.

So, whether you see the Lion’s Gate as an actual energetic gateway or simply as a beautiful point in the year to stop, reflect and set your intentions, there’s plenty here to work with.

Personally, I don't think you need to spend three hours chanting at the moon or buy a cupboard full of crystals.
Sometimes the most powerful magic is simply deciding what you want to carry forward — and what you're finally ready to leave behind.

You’ll need:
A candle — preferably yellow, gold, orange or white.
A piece of paper and a pen.
A quiet few minutes.
Light your candle and take a few deep breaths.
Imagine the warmth of the Sun surrounding you. Then picture yourself standing like a lion — grounded, strong and completely comfortable in your own skin.
Write down one thing you are ready to release.
Then write down one thing you want to welcome into your life.
Read both aloud.
For the thing you're releasing, say:
“I thank you for what you have taught me. I no longer need to carry you. I release you and make room for what comes next.”
For your intention, say:
“I know what I want. I am open to receiving it, ready to recognise the opportunities, and willing to do my part.”
Sit quietly for a few minutes.
Then blow out your candle.

And here's the important bit...
Don't sit waiting for the Universe to do all the work.
If your intention is confidence, take that step.
If it's change, make a start.
If it's abundance, look at where you can create new opportunities.
If it's letting go, stop picking the bloody thing back up.
That's working with energy.
That's working with magic.
And that's working with yourself.

Hi again, lovelies!
I've been having a little time out, taking my beloved narrowboat off on a bit of an adventure. I'm back now, the kettle's on, and I'm ready to jump back into our weekly deep dive into the Major Arcana.
So... grab a brew and fasten your seatbelt, because our Fool is about to climb aboard the Chariot.

At this stage in his journey, our Fool isn't quite the wide-eyed youngster we first met. He's grown up a bit. He's left the nest, found his own feet, fallen in love, and he's feeling pretty invincible. Full of the confidence that only youth can bring, he's convinced he can take on the world.

Sound familiar?
Well... life is about to teach our slightly cocksure young Fooly that wanting something and actually steering yourself towards it are two very different things.
Because dreams are wonderful...
But eventually, you've got to take hold of the reins.

The Chariot – Willpower, Direction & “Right Then… Pick a Lane”

🎃✨ Introducing... The Bewitched Ball! ✨🎃

Firstly, we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the Slay the Solstice Ball.
Unfortunately, circumstances meant we had to cancel the event, and we know many of you were just as disappointed as we were.

But we're not ones to stay down for long...

We've dusted ourselves off, stirred the cauldron, and we're determined to make this one even bigger, better and even more bewitching!

Join us on Saturday 31st October, from 7pm until midnight, at The Park Club, West Drive, Cleveleys, FY5 2BL, for an unforgettable evening of music, laughter, a little bit of Magick and fundraising for a wonderful local cause.

Hosted by our fabulous Mz Kitten, we'll be dancing the night away to tunes from the 70s, 80’s and 90’s, enjoying an alternative fashion show, party games, spell casting, raffles and plenty of surprises along the way.

This event is organised on behalf of local charity Electric Dreams, in memory of Greg Johnson, with all proceeds going to Trinity Hospice. Every ticket you buy helps support the incredible work they do in our community.

The dress code? Spookily Spectacular... if you'd like!
Whether you come dressed as a glamorous witch, a gothic queen or simply wear your favourite party outfit, you'll fit right in. Fancy dress is encouraged, but it's absolutely not compulsory. Come as your magickal self.

Time for our weekly deep dive into the Major Arcana.
