Week 3 of 12: Can I make my little business work in a town that’s struggling? 🖤
So, I’ve decided to document my first 12 weeks of having a shop. Yes, we’re starting at week 3 because I’ve been so busy actually running it that I forgot to document the first two! 😂
Three weeks ago, I opened the doors to Amor Cera Aromas on Poulton Road in Fleetwood, and what a three weeks it’s been!
This week has been a mixture of restocking things that have sold out, making wax bouquets, getting orders out and slowly making room for Christmas. Although I’m still very much in my autumn era, the Christmas burners have started creeping onto the shelves! 🎄
I’m not going to pretend it’s all been plain sailing. Opening a shop in a town where so many businesses have closed is a bit of a gamble, and I’ve given myself 12 weeks to see whether I can make it work.
The support so far has been lovely, but there’s a big difference between having a good opening few weeks and building a business that can actually pay the bills.
So that’s what I’m trying to do.
I’ll be sharing the good weeks, the quiet days, the things that sell out and probably a few questionable decisions along the way. 😂
