In the very early days we made decorative pillar candles, but soon went in the direction of fragranced tin candles for which we have been among the market leaders for many years. As the business grew, and more space was needed, we moved into a converted milking parlour in a very rural setting and took on our first employee. As the expansion continued, we acquired new larger premises on our current site in the South Lakeland fishing village of Flookburgh where we are still based today. We added to the space over time and now work out of 5 sites within the immediate area - all the candles and diffusers that we sell are conceived, designed and manufactured on site at Flookburgh with a highly skilled workforce. We now supply a wide range of shops on the high street, from small independents to own label products for department stores both in the UK and many countries around the world.

Our Christmas Trees, Pillar Candles and Wax Melts are waiting on a delivery next week which I’m promised will come. Our labels have finally arrived and we’ve been sitting on Advent Calendar and Diffuser boxes for weeks.

Three products. £52 worth inside. £19.75 to subscribers.

This month includes a box-exclusive Incense & Embers diffuser, Oakmoss (my fave ever fragrance) and Fig & Honeyed Pear — which is currently SOLD OUT in this size.

Wax & Wane is our monthly surprise candle subscription, so every box is different and we don’t repeat the same line-up twice.

The children are back at school, the house is quiet, and I’m putting the kettle on.

That first hot cup of tea, the mornings feeling a little cooler, and I’m working with a candle lit beside me.

Our Autumn edition of The Turning — September Fields, can’t be revealed yet, but it’s time to get your orders in and receive her first. 

It’s for that lovely in-between time when summer isn’t quite over, but everything starts to feel a little slower.
