Next coffee and clay session!

Running on the Thursday 1st October between 1-2.30pm.

Pop down on your lunch break enjoy, clay is so groundind and restorative, its a lovely way to unwind before the weekend.

We will be making coffee vessels, pinch pots that will then be glazed for pick up.

This morning, I was asked during my morning. Why is it called throwing. My answer...

I haven't been on the wheel all summer, i'm rusty. Not in the swing of things yet, it takes focus my brain isn't ready for and my muscle coordination is lacking.

But today was better than yesterday. Just need to build back up that skill. To try to be present in the action of it. Not get distracted.

Launching Tuesday evening clay class!

Absolutely loved our first Mugs clay class 🙌

What a beautiful thing to do, play with clay, outside under the trees with delicious coffee.

We built pinch pots and then coiled up a little for extra height and got everyone their very own coffee cups to use.

So nice to have a whole new gang all new to clay, we chatted laughed and enjoyed the process of building something purely with your hands

Kids clay club today we made coral gardens.

It was a lovely relaxed session and then when it finished we cranked up the music. Pop all the way.

We sang and danced and cleaned the studio and then alana made a sink full of foam... so naturally after mopping we had to had a street side foam fight 💪

We have one kids session left of the summer (dm to book) and then we will be moving onto an after school kids clay club. So keep your eyes peeled for the updates on here 👀

Setting up and hosting the morning kids clay class!

Busy bustling class! We made hermit crabs as there were so many at the beach yesterday and i thought if the kids were heading to the beach afterwards then they might see some and that would be really exciting.

Kids clay club is in full swing.

We have a week of next week as i'm driving the big ceramics vases to Brussels and then we are back from the 12th for 3 weeks until the end of summer.

At the beginning of August we travel to Brussels to start the process of working on the new series of big pots.

From the first coil its a journey. I love making these big vessels in the studio. Each piece contains me until it is finished holding my attention my gaze, until it is ready for the kiln.

With each one, i'm becoming more decisive, trusting the nature of the material, trusting myself, trusting when they are finished, or need more work, or I need to push them further. Its a wonderful thing to work through these things solo in the studio. To feel the freedom of process, without pressure or limitation. To find a collaboration that allows for you to explore in an unfettered way.
