After going to St Martin's School of Art in London Jill was lucky enough to be offered work in Italy designing knitwear and it was there that she met Massimo, a musician. They soon decided that they wanted to work together and so, combining Jill's design ability with Massi's craftmanship and engineering skills, due to a fortuitous gift of a fretsaw, destiny had them create what was to become tiger
s4tea. Since they first started, Jill and Massimo have supplied shops across Europe with their unique standing puzzles and they are proud to say that some of those shops are still customers today. In 2001, after many years living in Italy they decided to relocate to the UK. In 2010 their daughter Miranda, a successful glass designer, joined the business as creative director and works with them from her studio in London and Alessandra, now grown up and at college helps in the workshop and is the computer hero. Claudia and Dante, the grandkids, are, of course, constantly
involved in product development and offer their own brand of
technical support. All the puzzles, plaques and gifts are designed and made
in the workshop in Kent. Each one is hand-cut on a fretsaw and meticulously air-brushed so that it is unique. They are excellent for encouraging dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination and encorage children to appreciate hand-made and well-designed objects which inspire their imagination. They are the perfect gift to celebrate a birth, birthday, christening or Christmas and many can be personalised so are garanteed to make kids feel extra special too.
