Having recently joined several new FB Groups, I would like to introduce myself. I am an Aeronautical Engineer and former Flying Instructor currently writing historical fiction set during the interwar period. My novels include strong aviation/espionage themes firmly rooted in historical fact and always featuring interesting/significant aircraft (civil & military) of the period.

Watch out for my posts featuring these aircraft and the role they played in the development of aviation in the turbulent European theatre, when Germany went to extraordinary, highly secret lengths to circumvent the Treaty of Versailles restrictions.

The first book in the series is set at the end of the Great War and features this well-known aircraft (Bristol F2B Fighter) filmed at the Shuttleworth Collection.

Later in the series, the aircraft are not so well known. Watch this space.

Yet even in 1919, secret plans were afoot to circumvent these restrictions through covert flight training and aircraft development outside Germany, away from the prying eyes of the Treaty inspectors.
