A piece of woven fabric, which took 5 or 6 hours, I can’t remember if I’m honest! Colours sort of chosen from the start, the order that were added, absolutely random. With the tassels taken into consideration it’s taller than an interior door (if that helps?) made for a future project and loved every minute of the process! Also three lots of the yarn in this piece were spun by - keeping it local where I can 😊

This weekend has been practicing mindfulness. I didn’t have any workshops this weekend so took advantage to get some down time. Found a soothing playlist and took my time choosing what to do. Started with an art therapy style art creation, a Kinusaiga piece, 4 pieces of suminagashi, a try out of gold leaf sheets on a sculpture I did a few weeks ago, created a new cyanotype which I gave a Kintsugi look and finally started of a piece of fabric which is loosely based on water. Feeling a little more relaxed but need to do far more regularly to feel any benefits.

I’m having a mindful me weekend as, if I’m being honest, is well overdue. I’ve completed a couple of art therapy type drawings and it’s amazing what it does to your brain, total switch off for an hour or two. Who knew a squiggle could look so cool. Not sure what I will do tomorrow so watch this space, as they say 👍🏼

Well the autumn/winter term has started STRONG!!! Just look at these two utterly stunning pieces of fabric, created in just 2 hours 🤯 So many colours, so many different types of fabric and thread has been used. Totally delicious.

Huge thanks to for coming along today to try out the Kinusaiga set up ready for this week, she totally nailed it (which I knew she would!) I thought for fun I would ask my mate ChatGPT for its opinion and we’ve come to the same conclusion. Now to get the workshop ready for loom weaving tomorrow night ❤️

It must be the beginning of a new “term” at ScruffyB! Snacks and drinks fridge is full to the brim, I like to make sure everyone is fed and watered whilst they are creating masterpieces.

First workshop kicks off on Tuesday with fabric weaving on a gorgeous floor loom and Wednesday is the first Kinusaiga workshop. Can’t wait for everyone to give this a go.

Enjoy what’s left of the Bank Holiday weekend and I’m still refusing to stop wearing my flip flops 😂

Well I’m super super proud!! The lovely Sophie who has been to a few of my workshops sent me an email saying the ring and the piece of fabric she made with me gained a 1st and a 3rd in the local North Show ❤️ They were brilliant pieces and I’m so glad the Committee gave these the top marks. Huge congratulations Sophie and thank you for sharing your success with me ❤️
