Jobs in the Garden – October 🍂

October is a busy month as autumn really gets underway and there is plenty to keep you busy.
Plant spring bulbs – Get daffodils, crocuses, tulips and alliums into the ground before it gets too cold. We have a huge range at M&C.

Clear fallen leaves – Keep paths, lawns and borders tidy, but leave some leaves under shrubs and in quiet corners for wildlife.

Plant trees, shrubs and roses – Autumn is an excellent time for planting while the soil is still relatively warm and moist.

Cut back perennials – Remove tired stems and foliage where needed.

Divide and conquer - Lift and divide overcrowded plants while the soil is workable.

And finally… enjoy the autumn colour!
