Did you know the Katsura tree has a secret autumn trick?

As its beautiful heart-shaped leaves turn shades of gold, orange and pink, they begin to release a sweet scent often compared to caramel or burnt sugar

Known as Cercidiphyllum japonicum, the Katsura is a beautiful tree for every season but autumn is when it really steals the show.

As autumn arrives and the season begins to wind down, it’s lovely to look back at the spring and summer that have passed.

In this episode of Farm & Garden Fun Facts, Panny takes us back to Paulownia fargesii, which starred in one of our early videos with Jason back in April, when it was pollarded.

Look at what it became! What a transformation in just one season.
