After a period of examination, classification and entirely proportionate administrative consideration, The Department of Good Things (a division of Brilliantly Brave) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Botanical Acknowledgement Unit.

Thirteen botanical specimens have been selected for public circulation.

Hydrangea. Chrysanthemum. Crocosmia. Crocus. Daffodil. That type of flowery business. And a Heart-shaped bloom, which appears to have escaped conventional botanical classification but has nevertheless been approved.

The full collection launches today, in person. And also later today, online (if we haven't sold out in person).

We shall also be conducting Departmental field operations at Heather’s Heroes Highland Games in Inverness (between the hours of 11am and 4pm), where representatives of Brilliantly Brave will be present with cards, paperwork, financial transaction card-reading device and an appropriate quantity of goodwill. Ten-bob notes and other folding denominations are also accepted.

Botanical acknowledgement may now commence.

Plus: One of the reasons Brilliantly Brave exists is to see if something commercial can help pay for something useful.

Income generated through our licensing partnership with Carousel Calendars is helping fund Mental Health Awareness training at Rafford Village Hall this September and October.

The sessions will be delivered by Green Ribbons and are designed to help people feel more confident recognising when someone may be struggling, starting a supportive conversation, listening and knowing where to signpost for further help.

It’s a small, very practical example of how we want Brilliantly Brave to work.

Cards, calendars and licensing are the commercial bit.

Helping make mental health support more accessible is the reason behind it.

Today Jean is participating at "Changing the Narrative on Su***de" in Elgin, as part of World Su***de Prevention Day. She’s there representing Brilliantly Brave, alongside Green Ribbons and The MidLife Mingle.

It might seem slightly odd to find a greeting card business in that mix...but it isn’t.

Brilliantly Brave was built to do something useful. Selling cards allows us to help fund free mental health support and community activity, putting money made in one world to work in another.

So today is a useful reminder of why we do it. Cards can make people smile. But what happens after we sell them is what really matters.

A week since our friend Ms Tracey Bearton departed the Greeting Card shores for parish council pastures new. Less than a month to The Henries. We ain't be there mate.

Here's our love letter to The Henries. And start of a campaign to get 'em renamed. They shoulda got Sir Lenny Henry and renamed 'em The Lennies but they didn't have the pennies for The Lennies so they're still called The Henries when they shoulda been The Lennies. Named after Sir Lenny Henry.

Still time for Progressive Greetings Worldwide / PGBuzz.net to get a wiggle on and book Sir Lenny, innit.
We'd start a GoFundMe.
But we don't know how.

Today marks the end of an era. Our very close friend, supporter, enthusiast, fairy godmother and just all round totally amazing human Ms Tracey Bearton is retiring from the greeting card industry. We'll miss you Ms Bearton and all you've done for us, them and everyone over at Greetings Worldwide / PGBuzz.net
