🌻 Flower Folklore 🌻

In folklore, sunflowers are said to symbolise loyalty, hope and unwavering faith. Legend tells of a maiden who was so devoted to the sun that she was transformed into a sunflower, forever turning her face towards its light.

Whether the story is true or not, I love the idea that these cheerful blooms remind us to seek warmth, light and brighter days. 🌞💛

🌾 Happy Lughnasadh 🌻

As summer begins to soften and the first harvest arrives, Lughnasadh is a beautiful reminder to pause and notice all that has grown.

It’s a time to celebrate nature’s abundance, to give thanks for the flowers, the bees, the changing seasons and the quiet magic found in our gardens.

Here at The Little Flower Jar, every arrangement is shaped by what the British countryside is offering right now. No two bunches are ever quite the same, and that’s part of their beauty.

However you celebrate this turning of the wheel, I hope you find a moment to slow down, breathe in the scent of summer, and appreciate the little joys that surround you.

🌿 A little map to help you find us! 🌿

I’ve realised that lots of people are driving straight past without knowing where The Little Flower Jar is tucked away, so I’ve drawn this little map to make finding us a little easier.

We’re a tiny flower shop nestled at the park, creating beautiful seasonal arrangements using British-grown flowers, all inspired by nature and the changing seasons.

If you’ve been meaning to visit, we’d absolutely love to welcome you. Come and have a wander, breathe in the scent of fresh flowers, and discover our little garden workshop.

Sometimes the loveliest places are just a little hidden… 🌸

Losing someone we love is never easy, and it is a privilege to create flowers that help tell their story.

This special funeral tribute was arranged in a traditional Whicker basket, filled with sunflowers and soft pastel blooms, with little fairies nestled amongst the flowers. Sunflowers and flower fairies were her favourites, making this tribute a beautiful reflection of her personality and the things that brought her joy.

To complement the main arrangement, I also created four matching flower jars in the same sunflower and pastel colour palette, ready to be shared with family as a lasting reminder of a life well lived and a love that will always remain.

Every farewell is unique, and I believe funeral flowers should reflect the person they are celebrating—natural, meaningful and created with care.

Sending heartfelt condolences to the family, and hoping these flowers bring a little comfort, precious memories and a reminder that love is never forgotten. 💛🌻🧚✨

Being a florist isn’t quite as glamorous as Instagram makes it look… 🌿😂

I start the day looking fairly presentable…

By lunchtime I’ve usually got soil on my jeans, leaves in my hair, petals stuck to my jumper, mysterious green stains on my hands, and I’m pretty sure I’ve walked around with a pair of secateurs in my back pocket for at least an hour.

The workshop floor? It looks like Mother Nature has hosted a very enthusiastic party.

Every jar is made in a whirlwind of flowers, foliage, muddy boots, endless cups of tea and the occasional “Where have I just put those scissors?” (They’re normally in my hand.)

It’s beautifully chaotic… and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Here’s to messy creatives, wonky stems, muddy fingerprints and flowers arranged with heart rather than perfection.

After all, nature was never meant to be tidy. 🌸💚

This has been one of the busiest weeks I’ve had at The Little Flower Jar, and I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you. 🌿💐

Whether you’ve popped in for a bouquet, a little jam jar of flowers, visited the honesty stall, ordered a subscription, shared a kind word, or simply liked and commented on my posts… it all means so much.

Every bunch of British-grown flowers you choose helps support a tiny independent business and the wonderful flower farmers who grow such beautiful blooms.

There have been moments this week where the shop has been full of flowers, laughter and lovely conversations, and those are the moments that remind me why I started this little dream.

Thank you for being part of the journey. Your support, encouragement and kindness mean more than you know.
