We received a nice big delivery from Old Green | Seasonal Homeware & Workshops last week. Some exciting bits, including natural firelighters made from waste wood! We’ve also started stocking their Solace candle and put in a lovely big order of their Christmas candles, which sell out every year because they smell so.darn.good. (Their candles are all housed in recycled glass bottles too, how cool?!)
Lastly, we received more naked tea lights, just in time for those Halloween pumpkins 🎃

Soda crystals (also known as washing soda) now available for refilling 🙌🏻
Great for cleaning washing machines, unblocking pipes, cleaning toilets, ovens and greasy pans. Is there anything they can’t do?!

We turned seven last Friday (didn’t actually realise on the day as I was just trying to keep my head above water and get to the weekend, anyone else have one of those 🙃)
Genuinely can’t believe we’ve made it this far! Thanks to everyone who shops with us and shouts about us 🙏🏻 you’re the ones allowing us to do something we love so so much!

How to make a 30 second explanation last 3 minutes 🙃

At least several times a week a customer enters the shop, stops dead in their tracks and says ‘wait, that’s not a peanut butter machine, is it??!’ Yes my friend, that is.
Our peanut butter is a consistent best-seller. And for good reason. No oil, no salt. Just pure peanutty goodness. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s an absolute must!

Did you know we get charged every time you pay using a card??
That’s why whenever someone asks us if we still accept cash, we pretty much bite their hand off for it!
If possible, please, please pay in cash. We know it’s a pain (especially with the lack of cash points nowadays 🫠). But it would really help us out. Even if it’s only every now and again. We’d be super grateful!
And we always appreciate change too ☺️

Little ways we reduce waste at home...
1. Whilst waiting for the hot tap to warm up, we catch all the cold water in a jug. Then use that to water plants / pop in the kettle / rinse dishes.
2. Whenever we get given a gift, we save the packaging to reuse.
3. We make sure we put a lid on our pans, it’s saves energy and time!
4. Use. Your. Freezer. We ensure we cook big batches + freeze meals for another time. But also freeze things like ginger, chillies, and fresh herbs (in ice cube trays). So as little food as possible gets wasted.

What tips would you add? 🤔

If you have a jar or bottle you just can’t get clean because it’s a weird shape, then we’re going to let you in on a tip…
Put a couple tablespoons of rice in your container, then add a few centimetres of water. Pop the lid on and shake, shake, shake!!
Eventually the rice will scrub away all that dirt you can’t manage to reach ✨

Had some time off and now I don’t know what to post!
Also, very surprised the algorithm let me badmouth it.
Also, also, apologies for the sound of drilling from the upstairs flat 😑
