Today marks three years since we opened the doors of The Haunts Curiosity Shoppe 🗝️✨ Read on for story time!💫✨
Both Emma and I spent our childhood enchanted by films like Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic, by old folklore passed down through our families, and by the idea that there could be a little magic and wonder hidden amongst the very ordinary. When we met each other 15 years ago, we always dreamed of having our own version of Verbena Apothecary, just like Sally Owen’s from Practical Magic - a place where art, fragrance, folklore and curiosity could exist together and live alongside us.
In 2019, that dream began in our kitchen, with two fragrances made simply to capture memories we shared. We had no idea of the path it would open us to🕯️✨
Three years ago, it became a shoppe and since then, we have moved premises, built our own perfume lab, welcomed 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐥𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐲 into our space, travelled with our work, supported fellow creatives and raised money for humanitarian and animal welfare causes with our profits 🕯️✨
But the greatest thing we have built is community.
We believe deeply in the power of a dream, and in the magic that happens when people come together to create something positive. The Haunts has never just been about the things we make, it has always been about creating a space where people can feel inspired to make, dream and explore too🕯️✨
To every customer, friend, artist, maker and curious soul who has stepped through our doors, we cannot thank you enough. Thank you for believing in our peculiar little world and for helping it become something far greater than we ever imagined.
