**The End of a Chapter, The Beginning of a New One**
It is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce this week will be the last for Reborn Café Creative Borders. Our final day will be during the Braw Lads' Gathering on Saturday, 29th of June.
Let's start from the beginning. In the summer of 2020, we took on the lease of a commercial property, renovated it, and opened Creative Borders with the vision of creating an inclusive space where local artists could not only sell their products but also find opportunities for collaboration and conduct workshops. We opened our doors in November 2020, only to face a second lockdown a few weeks later.
We reopened at the end of April 2021, and although growth was slow, it was steady. We kept investing, expanded our collaborations to include over 70 local artists, and employed several people. Along the way, we met incredible people and made friends for life. We are and always will be extremely thankful for the love and support from our customers.
By the end of summer and into fall 2022, the cost of living crisis began to hit hard, forcing us to make drastic and swift changes. We reduced the craft items available for sale, drastically cut our opening hours, and shifted towards becoming more of a w**e bar café. Our w**e tastings and spirits events were extremely successful, and we thank you for your support.
In October 2023, we made one last change by closing the upstairs and bringing all seating areas to the ground floor. We have never been afraid to make changes to keep our offerings updated and viable.
Now, it is time for us to close this chapter and start a new one. We extend our most sincere thank you to all our customers, artists, former colleagues, and everyone we met during this journey.
We will be open this week from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 3 pm. Why not pop in to celebrate our friendship and toast to a new chapter?
P.S. We will announce a closing down sale in the next few days. Over the next few weeks, we will be selling all the assets in our shop.
