A road outside a shopping centre was closed after being left underwater. An apparent underground leak caused the closure of a stretch of Southway in Skelmersdale. Within moments the road went from dry to flooded.

Officers from Lancashire Police have attended the scene to enforce the closure after cars were seen driving through the water. Maintenance teams have been dispatched to deal with the incident but it remains unclear how long the problem will last. Homes and businesses in the surrounding area have also been left with little or no water pressure.
