A bear broke into an ice cream shop and ate until it passed out. In Tahoe, an ice cream shop had just launched its monthly new flavor: honey. Locals loved the flavor, but the surprise was that the number of fans turned out to be much larger.
On only the second day of serving, staff opened the shop and discovered that the honey ice cream tubs had been devoured, while a massive black bear was sprawled on the floor, fast asleep after its feast.
Wildlife protection officers were called in. They carefully woke the bear and led it outside before relocating it to a safer area, far from town.
Researchers explained that bears have an extraordinary sense of smell, estimated by scientists to be up to seven times stronger than that of bloodhounds, allowing them to detect food from miles away. So it’s no surprise that honey ice cream lured it straight to the shop.
The local wildlife center covered the cost of the ice cream, and when asked about it, the shop owner just laughed: “As long as someone pays, I hope that ‘someone’ comes back again. That was the fastest we’ve ever sold out of ice cream.”
“Just hire him as a security guard and pay him in ice cream :))) If this guy’s on duty, no one would dare mess with the shop. :))”
