Great report and pics just in from Richard Steel!
“Had a cracking little session down at Deal today.
Grabbed some lug from Medway Tackle Supplies this morning for the trip down to Deal. Arrived at around 11:30 with conditions as I thought they would be, which was a relief!
Cast out and 10 mins in, the rod that my neighbour Kieron had bent over and started taking line. He’s pretty inexperienced at fishing, being only the 3rd or 4th time he’s been, but talked him through it for him to land his first ever hound.
About an hour later, a decent rattle and Kieron back in, this time was a beauty of a red mullet. Cracking catch!
At this point he starts embarrassing me with an eel on the beach, sat at 3-0 for a little while after that!
Then my rod took its turn with a decent pull down and line coming off. A lovely little starry graced the beach as a blank saver for me.
After that, Kieron then gets another decent run and the biggest hound of the day came out. No monsters by any means, but fantastic sport and lovely to see them coming out in daylight.
As some of you may have had come over, a decent storm with tons of rain broadstairs/Ramsgate way came over. We were very lucky for most of the time until towards the end of the session a cloud descended upon us, I hear some pretty serious rumbles directly behind us and decided it was time to call it a day! As we got back to the car, the heavens opened and I was glad that we just missed it!
So all in all, a cracking little session at Deal!”
