I've been thinking pink this week...pink Freshwater Pearls and Ocean Jasper with a hint of pink & a tiny druzy cave full of even tinier quartz crystals which twinkle in the light.
I've been doodling in pink too...working on background designs or packaging or maybe just for fun 🤷‍♀️🙃

Happy New Year :)

Back at my desk today and thought you might like something with a little sunshine in today.

These PICTURE JASPER focals remind me of Colorado and Morocco and during these strange times when travel is restricted it's so good to remember the exciting places that we've travelled to....or dream of those places that we've yet to visit :)

A lovely necklace...An Ocean Jasper focal with Freshwater Pearls.
Do you see the Drusy Vug or Cave in the centre of the stone encrusted with natural quartz crystals that catch the light beautifully?

Ocean Jasper is quite a rare mineral which comes primarily from the island of Madagascar.

I've decided to take the plunge in these strange times & try out FB Market Place. I've posted one of my handmade freshwater pearl necklaces in Market Place, location Llandudno. It has a beautiful Seraphinite pendant, an extender chain & is approx. 17.5-19ins. long. All handmade by me, Beverley Warden-Owen, in my Conwy studio. Any comments very welcome :)

So many beautiful pearls...most probably many of the older pieces will have used many Pearls in their design. What a magnificent heritage you have Marina Kogan :)

I wonder if anyone here has seen the original of this magnificent work of art in Moscow? It truly is exquisite.

I wonder if anyone here has seen the original of this magnificent work of art in Moscow? It truly is exquisite.

The Imperial Crown of Russia, at display at the Kremlin in Moscow, was made for Catherine the Great's coronation in 1762 by Georg Friedrich Eckart and Jérémie Pauzié, andi is set with 4936 diamonds, 54 natural pearls and one of the largest reported red spinels with ca. 400 carats from the historical Badakhshan region in today’s Tajikistan.
In 2012, a version of the Imperial Crown was made by Kristall Production Corporation OAO to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty, the 250th years of the Imperial Crown, and the 50th anniversary of the Russian diamond-manufacturing trade. Kristall was founded in 1963 in Smolensk, Russia, as its first diamond factory and has cut over 83 million diamonds in excess of 10 million carats (two tons). The masterpiece, here on this photo, was made by 60 Kristall jewellery artists during six months and it has been valued at $15.5 million. This 2.3 kg white gold crown, is set with 11,352 diamonds with a total weight of 1,180 ct. All diamonds were sourced by Russian miner Alrosa and cut by Kristall. The crown replica also includes a 384.71 ct pear-shaped double rose cut purple tourmaline in the place of the original spinel and 74 cultured pearls.
