Against All Odds! 🩷♥️💜
When Rachel walked into our charm bar one July afternoon with her friend Kathleen, we noticed a scar low on her neck. What began as small talk quickly became a breathtaking story of survival.
She told me and Jo, by pure chance, during tests for an unrelated issue, doctors found a large tumour in her chest. It turned out to be a rare cancer called myathenias. The tumour was removed, but her ordeal was far from over!!
She contracted Covid in hospital, then a string of infections that landed her in intensive care. A seizure and a stroke followed, and Rachel spent three grueling months in hospital fighting to come back.
Through all of this she was still a mother — to a one‑year‑old and a three‑year‑old — and in the middle of renovating a house with her husband.
We couldn’t believe what her and her family had endured!
Kathleen, whom Rachel met ten years ago, stood by her every step — truly a ride‑or‑die friend. Today Rachel is alive to tell the story and we loved welcoming them at B51 for some much deserved girlie time. 👯♀️✨
What an incredible woman.💪🫶🥰
Rachel and her husband now raise awareness for this rare cancer through .🩷♥️💜
