A little bit of maintenance on the wetsuit today — gluing up a few small tears before they turn into big ones.

With open-cell spearfishing wetsuits, the neoprene is incredibly soft and flexible, which is what makes them so warm and comfortable in the water. The downside is that they’re also pretty easy to nick or tear, especially around high-stress areas or when you’re pulling the suit on and off.
Small tears are pretty much to be expected with regular use. The important thing is keeping an eye on them and repairing them early. A tiny nick that takes a couple of minutes to glue can quickly turn into a much bigger split if you ignore it.

A bit of proper neoprene glue, let it go tacky, press the edges together and give it plenty of time to cure. 👌

Look after your kit and it’ll look after you. 🤿
