Finally getting back into sewing a little over year after emigrating to NZ. I’m not doing anything too challenging, but it’s nice to feel like ‘me’ again.
Done for a friend’s little girl who loves all things rainbows 🌈 and will be celebrating her birthday soon.

Apparently it was love your pets day on Monday (only realised this when I finally got to bed on Tuesday morning!).

From this.....to this.....to this.....

Another room that caused some head scratching. We wanted a statement wall and loved the copper effect paint that we’d seen. We tried it and lived with it for several months before admitting it was the wrong statement for this particular space. As the main living area is open plan, it needed to flow and it just didn’t feel like that.
Back to the drawing board and another feature wall was sought.
It feels more now like a space that is separate in its areas, but sit well next to each other as the colours are more complementary.
Again, the furniture is second hand and found in second hand shops.

After a few months (and a couple of paint changes) a trip to Edinburgh inspired a bold wallpaper choice and hopefully the final version of the spare bedroom. I’m certainly over the moon with it and no desire to change it.

As usual the furniture is all second hand and usually stripped of its old varnish and oiled.
The lampshades are made by me, the ceiling one is a beautiful velvet material and the bedside is cotton, both featuring dragonflies.

A recent make for a clients new grandson. Racing cars was the request and after a few searches, this one was decided on....

A recent make for a clients new grandson. Racing cars was the request and after a few searches, this one was decided on. After the shade was collected a second request came through to make some bunting with the very small amount of additional fabric. Could only make this size as otherwise the cars would’ve been upside down. Great way to finish off scraps though and ties the theme of the room together.

This amazing plant bought by some beautiful friends has totally brightened up the whole room and we’ve loved watching it’s progress.
Thanks we love it.

When you can’t find what you’re looking for, take a (fairly) crappy frame from Ikea and cover it in cheap(ish) fake gold...
