A week in outfits (or at least, the ones I remembered to capture). 🐆🤍💙🖤
A round up of what I’ve actually been wearing this week.
White denim is back out! Which is a victory of actual sunshine in Scotland.
Lots of leopard print. Well because, I like it.
Totally not including all the things I forgot to take, because I just did, soz. I was busy.

Let this be your sign that you don’t need to reinvent the wheel each day. Double down on your heroes. For me, that is great denim, great leopard and great individual pieces. Always an accessory or shoe to either complement or contrast and go.

“Yikes! It used to be a lot of ££ on utter sh*te.” This was the rather honest confession I got last week from a long-term client.

We have been working together for seven years. In that time, she has fought incredible battles with an eating disorder, medical complications, and the exhausting toll that takes on your body and mental health. She is well on the way to recovery now, weightlifting, getting physically strong, and building a healthy mind.

When your body changes, your brain takes a while to process the change. Before our call, she told me she felt completely ‘meh,’ uninspired, and disconnected from her clothes. Constantly navigating changes in body shape left her falling into a trap so many of us know: “I was hugely influenced by Instagram... buying anything an influencer told me to. Admiring someone’s style meant I just tried to copy them, which created so much confusion about what actually works for me.”

The result? A wardrobe full of cheap filler pieces that didn’t make her feel good. Going back to first principles of the things I’ve taught her, she started tracking her spending, swapping fast fashion for quality wool and cotton, and she booked an online call with me to check back in and most importantly: find ways to make interesting outfits with what she already owns.

We didn’t focus on trends. We focused on HER, her shape, what suits her lifestyle, and her true style identity. By the end of the call we had talked through most of what she had and discussed ways to pull outfits together, using specific pieces she wanted to use more. And we talked about ways to identify what items should go and which should stay. The confusion lifted, she sent me this lovely pic with: “These are the definite ‘outs’... amazing how you can bring so much clarity.” If you would like my help to gain this type of clarity. DM me now.

To my lovely client: I am so incredibly proud of your strength, your recovery, and your commitment to yourself. You are such a beautiful inspiring soul.

The temperature soars, and your anxiety is spiking as high as the mercury trying to find an outfit that ensures you won’t sweat to death before you even arrive at the office.

Looking “workwear appropriate” in a heatwave can feel like an absolute minefield. You want to stay completely cool, feel completely cool but you still need to look polished and pulled together. “Can you share your toes? What length of skirt? OMG I can’t decide!”

I pulled together my favourite pinterest summer workwear looks to save as inspiration for what will hopefully be a hot, hot Scottish summer (fingers crossed!). 🤞🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I have curated a few favourites here to save, but the full board is on pinterest which you can navigate to this from the link in my bio.

Swipe through for the ideas, when you are scanning the wardrobe this morning keep these rules in mind:

Fabric is Everything: Step away from the polyester. Synthetic fabrics trap heat, meaning you’ll literally melt on your commute. Look for 100% cotton, linen, linen blends. They let your skin breathe.

Ditch the Wool Blazers: Should go without saying but many of my blazers, although I love them, have a wool base, not ideal when it is literally frying an egg on your face. Swap your wool blazer for linen or a tailored waistcoat, or a crisp, oversized cotton shirt worn open over a smart tank. You get that professional look without the hot hot layers.

Embrace Looser Silhouettes: Tight clothes are the enemy in the heat. Swap tight trousers for a wide leg linen or a beautiful loose midi skirt. Loose shapes allow for maximum airflow and look super chic.

Footwear wise, I am on board with toes in the workplace as long as your home (or professional) pedi is on point (and you're not a man, sorry). A little ballet flat, loafer or slide will look perfect!

What is your favourite summer look when you have to face the office in the heat? Let me know below!

A summer favourite outfit combo -
🐆 +🤍 = 👌👌
White jeans and leopard print is one of my favourite summer combos. Clashing the printed bag is also a fave.
Don’t be afraid to throw a different pattern into the mix. It shouldn’t work on paper, but because the tones of the two prints are similar and the rest of the outfit is grounded in neutrals, it works.
Thankfully as the owner of an unhealthy amount of leopard print, there’s ways to wear it all and wear it again. 🤣
Are you team leopard print?
Wore this Sunday to at . So much fun, lots of dancing, slightly too much sun and 💯 too much rosé. Still recovering…

Stop torturing yourself over buying mistakes, get over it. Forgive yourself, move on and build a “wish list fund”.

Working with girls who are overshoppers, some who have even built up a little credit card debt, we use the “wish list fund” as a strategy to learn and stop repeating past mistakes.

Rather than feeling guilty and hating yourself for bad buying, let’s monetise those items and use those funds to build towards that one thing you always wanted. Your number one wish list item.

Once you have worked out what’s going, where do we sell it?

High-Street & Fast Fashion (Zara, Mango, H&M)
Where: Vinted or Depop.
The Trick: Fast fashion sells on Vinted & Depop. Price it to sell, bundle items together to tempt buyers, always use clear photos of the item and be honest and clear about the condition. Don’t be surprised to get offers for items. List nearer payday when people like to shop.

Mid-Market & Premium Brands (Me+Em, Whistles, Ganni)
Where: Vinted, eBay, or a local independent pre-loved reseller.
The Trick: Include as much detail as possible, the fabric composition in the title (e.g., “Whistles 100% Wool Coat”). The more the item costs the more detail is needed. People actively search for quality materials like wool, cashmere, and silk, and will pay a premium for them.

Luxury & Designer Pieces (Gucci, Celine, Chanel)
Where: Vestiaire Collective, or a Luxury Pre-Loved Boutique. In Glasgow we have a few, notably in the west end. Research one near you.
The Trick: Authenticity and condition are everything. Keep the original boxes, dust bags, and receipts if you have them, and take detailed photos of the serial numbers and hardware. But please remember resellers take a commission which varies from 40-60% of the price.

Next time you get the urge to buy a random £20 top, ask yourself: “Do I actually want this, or would I rather be £20 closer to my wish list piece?” Redirect the cash, focus the spend. Build a wardrobe that you LOVE!

Save this post to remember, and DM me with any questions.

The “ten minute out-out-outfit”.

I was invited to a fantastic event last week, but as usual I gave myself approximately 10 minutes to get ready. This was the last minute outfit I pulled together.

Usually if I have limited time I base my outfit on one thing and work from there. In this case it was the bag, which I felt like I hadn’t worn in ages. Then all the other bits kind of had to work round it. I threw on my trench and went.

Stop overthinking it, pick your favourite thing and work from there. Then go out and enjoy yourself.

Are you someone who needs three hours to get ready for a night out, or are you a last minute Annie like me? Confessions please, how long, typically does it take for you to get ready?

What I’ve worn this week: the glamorous, the comfortable, and the sweaty).

A quick round-up of real things I’ve actually worn this week. I ran into my lovely client the other morning after a particularly sweaty F45 class, full red faced cardio sweat on, broken nails, the lot. She still gave me a hug. Because let’s be honest, real life isn’t always polished or perfect, sometimes it’s sweaty and stinky, messy and muddy.

We have gym fits, an incredibly last minute going out look and some general working from home looks. And these are the ones I remembered to take, because I don’t always remember.

Real life happens in between the videos and the scrolling. Happy Friday Ladies.

Are you suffering a little decision fatigue when it comes to how to wear a barrel leg jean? Which jacket goes with which jeans? You pull an outfit together and it doesn’t quite feel right?

It’s all in the proportions.

Barrel legs have that gorgeous, curved volume through the leg (which is great if you feel you are wider through the hips) but wearing them with the wrong length jacket can completely cut your frame in half at the widest part.

What I suggest:

The Barrel Leg + Cropped Jacket: Barrel legs tend to be better worn with a shorter, cropped jacket rather than a longer shacket or blazer. This stops your frame from being cut at its widest part. It pulls the attention right back up to your waist, making your legs look longer, your overall frame look balanced, and the outfit looks instantly more pulled together.

The Long Loose Fitting /Shacket + Full Lenght Jeans:
If your blazers and shackets have no waist definition, save them for your long, straight leg or wide leg jeans. This keeps the leg length looking longer and gives a casual laidback oversized vibe without being too comedy oversized.

The Tailored Defined Waist Blazer:
Tends to work with most any shape of trousers, not great with a barrel, but if I was going to wear a barrel and a waisted blazer together, which I have done - I would add a heel to feminise the look and lengthen the legs again.

However all this said - wear whatever you like THERE ARE NO RULES!
(But if you’ve been putting on your barrel legs and feeling a bit confused or boxy, try switching up the jacket length tomorrow and see if it works?)

Let me know what you think below, and save this video to remember for the future.

Are you sick to the back teeth of being fed impulse buy signals every time you scroll?
Fed up with non-stop “must have’s”, Zara hauls and “what cool girls are wearing” carousels. Posts that don’t inspire but leave you feeling completely lost and insecure: “What should I be wearing now?”
Honestly? I get sick of these signals too. And do you know what I do about it? I just unfollow.
If an account doesn’t meet my needs, it goes. My feed is for genuine outfit inspiration and building a community with like minded women who want to look and feel great. I’m not here to be put under pressure to buy cheap crap clothes, and neither are you.
If the “comment shop” / “links below” posts are making you and your wardrobe feel inadequate it might be time to cull that influencer list instead of going shopping.
Why? I have worked with girls who have mountains, and I mean mountains, of cheap filler clothes and have gotten into debt from buying them. Girls who feel sick and guilty at the situations they have got themselves into. If you’re struggling to control your spend and the inflow of clothes. It’s time for a digital detox.
Hopefully you find my page more of a safe space. I don’t believe in fashions or fads or pushing those on you. I want you to build a wardrobe that’s right for you. That is full of wonderful things you love.
I believe in buying well, it doesn’t have to be expensive but considered. When I talk about investing in a piece it’s as much about the time and consideration you give to buying it as the price. Ask yourself:
Do I need it?
Can I wear it more than 3 ways?
Will I still love it in a year?
The first step to reclaiming your style and your peace? Go to the accounts that make you feel like you, or your wardrobe are inadequate, and hit unfollow.
Then let me know how therapeutic it feels. 👇

You can wear it or you can style it, it’s your choice. You might think you have no shape, but are you stopping to consider how to “shape” your clothes?

A little tuck here, a little roll there can work wonders for how your clothes look when worn. You can choose to dress to enhance your shape or hide it. I do a mixture of both. But if you want to look polished, typically it’s the little styling tweaks that help.

Most of the time, the item is perfect - the styling is just ‘unfinished

There are so many ways to “tweak” an item to make it work that little bit better.

Showing a bit of wrist by rolling a sleeve or creating a waistline with a simple front-tuck changes the silhouette instantly. It takes three seconds, but it’s the difference between wearing the clothes and the clothes wearing you.

You don’t need a new body. You just need to learn to style the one you already have. Give it a try, and let me know how you get on.
