It’s Feel Good Friday at Lomond, and we’re ending the week by celebrating some fantastic achievements across our team!

First up, a very happy 60th birthday to Bernie from our Warehouse team! We hope you had a fantastic day and enjoyed celebrating this special milestone.

A big congratulations also goes to Sylwia on completing and passing the first section of her BRC for Warehousing and Distribution. This is a fantastic achievement and an important step in maintaining the high standards we pride ourselves on at Lomond.

And finally, well done to Sean on successfully passing his Class 2 Driver Training. Our drivers play a vital role at Lomond, so it’s great to see Sean taking this next step in his development!

Yesterday, our Culinary Business Development Managers, Robbie and Kevin, both members of the Master Chefs of Great Britain attended the Butcher’s Block Masterclass at The Stables, Prestonfield House in Edinburgh.

The event brought together students and leading chefs from across the industry for a day of hands-on learning and knowledge sharing, with a focus on beef, lamb, poultry and game, as well as butchery, preparation and making the most of quality ingredients.

We’re proud to support the next generation of chefs and the development of the skills and talent that will shape the future of our industry!

A great day of learning, collaboration and celebrating the craft behind great food!

We’re excited to launch the Lomond Innovation Awards 2027, celebrating Scotland’s food and drink businesses that are thinking differently, challenging the norm and creating what’s next.

Have you created something that could change the way we eat, shop or think about food?

We’re looking for innovative ideas, products and approaches across food innovation, sustainability, technology, health and nutrition, and commercial potential.

Whether you’re developing a new product, using technology in a different way, tackling sustainability challenges or responding to an emerging consumer need, we want to hear your story.

Could your innovation be the next big thing?

The finalist's will have the opportunity to showcase their innovation at our Taste of Lomond show on the 24th/25th February 2027. The winner will receive a £2,500 cash prize, a six-month listing with Lomond Wholesale, plus a host of additional marketing support and lot's MORE!

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY | COMMUNITY

Here at Lomond Wholesale, being part of the food and drink community means more than supplying great food. It means supporting the people, charities, businesses and communities around us - and finding ways to give something back wherever we can.

From donating our short-dated stock to Kindness Homeless Street Team Glasgow daily, to supporting Possobilities and the causes that matter most to our colleagues, community sits at the heart of what we do.

Over the past couple of years, our teams have pulled together for some pretty big challenges too:

Just recently, a group of our team walked the West Highland Way, raising funds for Beatson Cancer Charity and Kindness Homeless Street Team Glasgow.
Last year, colleagues took on Tough Mudder UK, raising money for Beatson Cancer Charity and The Aplastic Anaemia Trust.

At this year’s Taste of Lomond, we raised funds for The Burnt Chef Project, while also giving them a stand and demonstration slot to help them share their work with the foodservice community.

We’re also pleased to share that we are supporting the development of a new sports hall on the Isle of Mull Isle of Mull All-Weather Indoor Sports Hall, helping create better facilities for the island community.

We’re even getting behind local motorsport, sponsoring a rally car in this October’s Beatson's Building Supplies Mull Rally !

And honestly, that’s just a snapshot, because whether it’s raising money, giving organisations a platform, supporting local communities or simply lending a hand, we believe businesses have a role to play beyond what happens within their own four walls.

Next week, we’ll be introducing something NEW that brings that same spirit of support to the Scottish food and drink businesses doing things differently…

The Lomond Innovation Awards will celebrate businesses and entrepreneurs pushing boundaries, developing new ideas and finding innovative ways to shape the future of food and drink.
