An heirloom-inspired brooch, this one has a special antique copper finish and we think it came out great.

The Treasure Lion brooch is richly detailed with winding thistles and a regal lion at its heart. We call it the 'treasure' lion for the heraldic 'tressure' around the lion.

Spare a thought for our photography teamā€”currently hard at work remastering every one of our clan crest images. Wherever possible, theyā€™re also capturing new shots set against the correct tartans, bringing each crest to life with even greater authenticity.

With over 250 clans and kindreds, itā€™s no small task!

New clan now available on the website: KIRKPATRICK.

Here we have a bloody dagger and the motto 'I make sure', which remembers Roger de Kirkpatrick, an attendant to Robert the Bruce and the murder Red Comyn. Kirkpatrick legend has it that Bruce stabbed Comyn with his dagger. Horrified, Bruce fled from the church to his escorts and told them, "I doubt I have slain the Comyn." Kirkpatrick cried, "Sire, You doubtest so? I'll mak sikkar!" ("I'll make sure"), whereupon he rushed the church and finished off the wounded Comyn. Horrible stuff, but a key moment in Scottish History and necessary for Bruce to secure the throne.

We've been going through our old moulds and there's lots of treats in there. Here are some vintage Carrick clan badges, three small and one large. There's MacDonnell of Glengarry on the left with its little bird; then Duncan with the ship in distress; Cunningham (over fork over!) and the cap badge on the right there is Blair, with the deer and the motto Amo Probos (I love the virtuous).

There's lots in the collection, and we hope to offer some of the better ones on the website soon!

Just some colour matching for an outfit. The tartan is Cornish National, with Lovat Blue tweed to pick out that blue stripe. Then black imitation horn buttons to compliment both the St Pirran flag and the rustic feel of the tweed. This should make a great and quite colourful set!
