Had a great day on Wednesday at Cobbinshaw Fishery. Managed 5 rainbows and 3 small perch to the net—2 on my trusty Blue Flash Damsel, fished slowly on a DI3 line, with the rest coming to a Yum Yum Eggstasy Worm fished 10 feet under the b**g.

The standout setup on the day was definitely the Yum Yum Eggstasy Worm under the b**g. Once I switched to it, the takes came regularly and it consistently outfished everything else. The Blue Flash Damsel also did the business early on before the worm stole the show.

The perch clearly hadn't read the rule book and decided they fancied a trout fly too! I also managed to miss more takes than I'd like to admit—but that's all part of keeping the fish population healthy... or at least that's what I'm telling myself!

What a fantastic venue. The boats are spotless, spacious and a pleasure to fish from. The fishing was excellent, and the hospitality was first class. I'll definitely be back once this hot weather cools down and look forward to seeing how the fishing improves as the water temperatures drop.

Had a great day last Saturday at Lochter Activity Centre. Managed 10 fish to the net—2 on my trusty Blue Flash Damsel, fished slowly, with the rest coming to dries. There were fish rising everywhere, and although I landed 10, I missed far too many takes.

The standout dry fly was definitely a size 16 or 18 Yellow Owl. Once I switched to it, the fish took it confidently, especially during the better rises. I also tried a few other dry patterns, but the Yellow Owl consistently outfished them and was the clear winner on the day.

What a fantastic venue with three ponds to choose from, all looking in great condition. The fishing was excellent, the hospitality was first class, and the lunch was superb. I'll definitely be back once this hot weather cools down. Looking forward to seeing how the fishing improves once the temperatures drop.

What a cracking day up at Millhall Fishery! 🎣

Ended up with 16 to the net and dropped loads as well. The fish were absolutely pulling like trains and are in superb condition—proper hard-fighting fish that keep you on your toes.

The best setup for me was a Di3 with one of my Blue Flash Damsels on the point and the Mini Blue Flash Damsel on the dropper. The Mini Black Rabbit was bang on too... just remember to sing the song before you cast it—if you know, you know! 😂

The b**g also chipped in, fishing the Yum Yum Eggstasy Worm nice and deep.

Can't ask for much better than that. Great sport, great fish, and a brilliant day on the water. Tight lines everyone, and if you're heading up there soon, those patterns are definitely worth a try!

Was at Newhouse Trout Fishery yesterday for 4 hours and managed 8 fish to the net, while dropping another 4, all on my own flies. The amount of pulls and takes was incredible, but a lot of the fish just weren't locking in properly and seemed to be nipping at the flies rather than taking them confidently.

The best methods for me were a DI3 line with a Harvey lure on the point and my wee mini damsel on the dropper. Of course, the b**g with a yellow egg set around 5 feet down also did the business.

All the flies were tied by myself and are available through GerrykingFlies. Every fly is hand tied by me and tied to the same standard as the flies I fish with myself.

As always, the fishing was first class and the hospitality was second to none. Stevie has the fishery fishing exceptionally well, and the fish are in superb condition. There were fish showing all over the loch and plenty of action throughout the session.

A great few hours' fishing, plenty of action, and another reminder of why Newhouse is such a cracking fishery. Can't wait to get back. 🎣

If anyone is interested in the patterns that did the damage, feel free to check out GerrykingFlies for quality hand-tied flies that are proven on the water.

Was at Glencorse Trout Fishery on Wednesday evening and managed 5 fish to the net, all on a Grunter tied by a good friend, David. Ended up with 4 rainbows and a wee brownie.

The fishery was looking absolutely superb, with the water in great condition and plenty of fish showing right across the loch. The amount of fish we rose was incredible, and it was clear there were loads of hard-fighting fish about.

I was also snapped off by one that decided to take off under the boat — my rod was fully bent over and I just couldn't stop it. It shot off like a bullet and had me beaten fair and square!

Can't wait to get back. You're doing an excellent job, Kenny. The fish are in outstanding condition, strong as anything and fighting all the way to the net. I honestly think they must go to the gym every day! 😂🎣

Thanks for all the hard work that goes into making Glencorse such a brilliant fishery — it's a credit to you and always a pleasure to fish there. 👍🎣

🎣 WHAT A DAY AT NEWHOUSE FISHERY! 🎣

The fish clearly didn't get the memo yesterday... 33 to the net, 3 snapped at dropper, 3 double hook-ups, and a nice big Tiger 🐅 and enough lost and missed fish to keep me wondering what the final count could have been! 🤣

The fish were well spread around the water and in a seriously taking mood. The standout setup was a DI3 with a heavy fly on the point and a small damsel on the dropper. I tied 5 of those damsels the night before and, in true fishing fashion, managed to donate every single one to the fishery by the end of the day! 😂

The floating line with the Toxic Dancer was also doing plenty of damage.

Massive credit to Stevie and the team at Newhouse Fishery. The fishing, the hospitality, and the condition of the fish are absolutely first class. Every visit reminds us why it's one of the best fisheries around. The hard work behind the scenes doesn't go unnoticed and it's appreciated by all of us anglers.

If anyone is interested in the flies I was using, drop me a message. Just be warned—if they work as well for you as they did for me, you'll want me back at the vice tying more before the week's out! 😆

Most of the materials used were from SMG Fishing. If you're stocking up, don't forget to use GERALD10 at checkout when spending £10 or more to grab yourself a discount.

Now if anyone find 5 small damsels attached to fish swimming about ... they're probably mine! 🤦‍♂️🎣
