Another turning of the Wheel! Our lovely shop fitter has almost finished so we can now start bringing the first boxes of stock into the shop. We're really pleased with what the shop will look like on the inside and we hope you will be too. This will be a really busy time for us as we aim to open at Samhain, which right now feels achievable but daunting. THANK YOU everyone for your appreciation of our logo. When I felt called to continue the legacy of the shop, as this was becoming reality I reflected on what our design should be. I felt early on that the "vesica picsis" or "mandorla" of 2 interlocking circles should be a key inspiration. It's such a familar symbol in Avalon, featuring on the The Chalice Well head, and has so many layers of meaning - a Western "Ying Yang", the interface between spiritual and physical realms, a sacred place, the conscious and the unconscious and so on........it seemed appropriate to take inspiration for it to help symbolise the energies of the Goddess and the Green Man. I felt that the Goddess should feature the well known Triple Moon symbol and manifest in a lunar/stellar aspect, while hopefully being an image that resonates with many paths. I personally first encountered Goddess in this manner and wanted to honour that. I also felt that the Green Man should be antlered, to resonate with the Horned God in his many forms - Herne, Cernunnos, Pan.....to be a true lord of the wild wood. And of course to be featured in traditional oak. Lastly, the central star symbolises the uniting of these energies and also references the 8 spokes of the Wheel of the Year, which are gateways for so many peoples' experience of natural spirituality and which were always a key feature of the shop since its inception. I am very grateful to Yuri Leitch for manifesting and improving this vision through his amazing skill and devotion to his craft. I couldn't have wished for better. Blessings, Chris.

What's your favourite incense? A brand? A particular scent? Do you like sticks, cones, a charcoal burner? What about incense for specific things - Sabbats, the Moon, intentions? Do you like to use it just for pleasure or reserve it for ceremony or intention? Any recommendations appreciated. Personally I've recently been using a simple natural cedarwood stick from Japan - they're small and have that lovely slow burn. But I also like a real proper blast of loose incense for ceremony!
