I had a work experience student with me over the Summer who asked me when someone can actually call themselves a guitar maker.

I'm not sure whether I had a sensible answer at the time, but I now believe that it is when, were one to die tomorrow, that the last instrument presented is given at the best of one's ability.

I know that Patrick doesn't believe in the "perfect" guitar, but if it is the very best that you can do, then it is enough.
