I’m in Rio…. Yup, that Rio in Brazil for a week…for a long planned trip for important “witch stuff”. It’s beautiful and stunning, and I’ve swim with sea turtle, earned good food, drink good cocktails, seen the sun set from the top of sugarloaf mountain and spent time doing magic with some of my dear beloveds.

I’ve been busy making new wands - the wood has spent several months seasoning in the workshop and now it’s time to begin the process of shaping, sanding and the decorating them. Both these two are elder wood, from Somerset, and are looking for homes now.

New Glastonbury street art! Glastonbury has a delightful and slowly changing collection of street art - these are two new (or relatively new) pieces I found tucked away by the car park I most often use when I’m heading to the post office there.

Three new upcycled rosary necklaces - All Sold, more coming soon.

The first a hare, made for St Melangell - Welsh patron Saint of Hares. Very delicate (in appearance not strength) vintage purple glass beads

2nd for Brighid - made at Imbolc - a little silver tone Brighid’s Cross on a vintage rosary with red wooden beads - this one is lightweight and perfect to carry with you.

Third is for Hekate. This one is a bit unusual - it’s vintage and made of Bakelite - which has become rather collectable. I don’t usually work with man made materials, but Hekate was especially keen on the spacer beads.

All can be worn as necklaces - the first two have little clasps that fasten onto the rosary connector.

It’s a glorious day, and the hound and I walked round our favourite National Trust garden and photographed the snake head fritillaries that are filling the orchard right now - they’re one of my favourites with their bizarre checkboard patterns. A good few people stopped to ask me what they were and where they are from (yes! They’re native!). This is one of my favourite images - deliberately over exposed to try and convey their ethereal, magical nature

I’ve tried to grow tulips many times, they never grow owing to the mice who seem to think I’m planting them tasty snacks just for them. The NT gardeners clearly have either better mouse defences or less mice than I do, and I’ve been enjoying theirs every day - I love how they open up when it’s sunny and furl tight in the rain.

One of my first creative loves has always been photography…. I take photographs most days as part of my creative and magical practice, some I run through computer manipulation to create my series of art prints - portals into magical space and time.

Find them in the usual places.

The blackthorn is filling the hedges with its white blossom, replacing the cherry plum which is mostly finished now. Blackthorn flowers before it leafs out, making it (perhaps) more dramatic and gorgeous. It is scented - not as strongly as the hawthorn which will take over soon, and not as delicate as the cherry plum…. But I still love it.
