Lammas blessings! In my part of the world the grain harvest is complete - a couple of weeks ago. Johns barleycorn is dead!

The fruit is ripening fast, and I’ve collected many hedgerow blackberries already. Yum.

I've been spending hours - hot, sweaty, sawdusty hours in the workshop sawing and sanding ogham staves to replenish my stocks after our trip to Scotland enabled me to find more heather. These designs are all now available again... but hurry, they go fast.

A trip to the islands of Scotland also means seal spotting - we saw grey and harbour seals from Orkney, mostly at a distance, and then across to Skye where we saw harbour seals. Boat trips from Dunvegan castle have been operating for as long as I've been travelling to Skye (nearly 40 years) and the little boats are able to get close to the seal haulouts and are very mindful of not spooking the seals. several seals had pups... which ride on their mum's backs to start to learn to swim. SO cute.

I've just got back from an amazing trip to Orkney and Skye.... and am thus adding to the glorious abundance of puffin pictures I'm seeing across my social media feeds.... when the world is burning (figuratively and literally), we all need some joyful cute in our lives, and puffins do a fantastic job of that.

new! Fossilised Coral Pendant, polished in my noisy little vintage stone tumbler, hand drilled.

I found this pebble, and a few more a longggg time ago when I was a grad student and living up in Durham, close to the north sea coast - pebbles wash down from the cliffs. I collected some, and periodically i find them in old boxes of stuff that have gone through a number of moves with me.

Once tumbled, the stones feel soft, tactile and magical. Find it in the usual place.
