Spooky season is almost upon us, so imma run a little deal on serving bowls…ideal for handing out Halloween sweets 🍭 👻 🎃

A lot of the time I pride myself on being an excellent person to buy from when it comes to uranium glass. This is not one of those times. I have managed to photograph this jug for sale and completely forget to take any photos under UV 😅

I promise this glows 🤣

💚 Vibrant in daylight as well as under UV (I swear!)

I always pick these up whenever I see them because I’m always amazed at just how old they are. These appear in the Sowerby pattern books in 1874, a whopping 152 years ago!

They came in vaseline too, but the deep green seems to be harder to find and the glow is every bit as good. I believe these two would have left the factory together and have been a pair all this time because they’re so identical. Usually these vases have variations in height, colour and weight, but these two are pretty much identical twins. They measure 5.5” tall and 3.5” across the top rim.

Given they’re likely to be around 150 years old, they’re in great shape. Both vases have a chip to the base rim as shown, which is easily hidden at the back of the vase, and a hint of clouding from use, but it’s so faint it’s basically not there.

Anyone want to give this adorable Victorian basket a home? Unfortunately it has a crack in it 😭

It still displays very well (see photos) and glows beautifully, so needs to live out its days where it will be appreciated. It’s 5” tall and 6” long.

Technically this is by an unknown maker although I have my suspicions that it’s a Henry Greener piece, it has a nice design reminiscent of snowflakes. The beaded edges have the odd small chip here and there which I’ve tried to capture in the pictures.

A Sowerby Iris vase and matching frog 🐸

Do not underestimate the size of this one! It's a massive piece of glass - the vase measures a whopping 10” across! It's approximately 5" tall and has an amazing glow.

The lily and Iris vases are pretty iconic pieces from Sowerby. They first appear (to my knowledge) in the 1933 catalogue and went on to become sales record breakers according to the later pattern books. They were made for at least 7 years (not all uranium), so are quite common, but pieces of this size and condition are definitely harder to come by.

The vase is in lovely condition with no damage of any kind. The frog has a small chip on the top and a fracture underneath as shown, but is completely stable. It sits nicely flush with the top of the vase.

Not only is this vase a lot of glass for the money, but it's also an art deco design classic, destined to appreciate in value for years to come.
