Sheep in Stitches Handcrafted needle felted and embroidered gifts using organic wool from my own flock. Some items available from stock but most are made to order.

"Sheep in Stitches" is a range of vintage, hand embroidered and needle felted gifts, plus some useful everyday items with a little bit of embellishment to make life more fun! Most of the fabrics, lace and threads used are vintage and at least 60 years old and the white wool used in felted items and to stuff cushions etc is from my own organically certified sheep. Items include i-pad/tablet, i-phon

e/mobile phone and i-pod/mp3 player bags, fabric notebooks and diary covers, tuffets (6 cornered cushions) lavender pillows and pin cushions, mobiles and cot hangers, baby blankets, greetings cards embroidered on linen for sending and framing, framed embroidered pictures and a range of felted sheep for use as home decoration or to hang on your Christmas tree! I am always happy to take special commissions or alter designs to accommodate your requirements so just drop me a line to discuss with no obligation.

That is the face of a very happy collie!
Did a training session with Torrin before lunch and all of a sudden we have a stop, a recall, a walk-up and I can walk him past the sheep back to the vehicle off-lead without him trying to go and round them up again.
He celebrated with a drink from the water trough in the field and an ostrich bone for lunch.

I'm working on two memorial portrait ornaments today. The fur is needlefelted and the eyes are hand embroidered.

I'm so enjoying this freestyle Union Island Gecko embroidery and building up the skin pattern as I go along.
There are hundreds and hundreds and HUNDREDS of french knots, but it's quite a mediative process as I don't have to keep changing from one stitch to another.
I've been asked if this piece will be for sale and the answer is probably, Yes, as long as it turns out the way I hope.😊

Starting to work the Gecko head. I have to be careful of the scale of the piece, so I'm using a single strand of thread and a single wrap around the needle to create a tiny knot. As I work down the body, the gecko's body scales get bigger so I'll use 2 strands and 1 or 2 wraps.

I've found my new project!
I saved this photo of the beautiful from the newsletter.
If you haven't heard of them before, they used to be called the Flora and Fauna preservation society with an amazing quarterly journal called The Oryx, after their flagship species conservation project. They are an incredibly effective conservation charity that I have supported for over 30 years and never cease to astound me with their ability to bring people together to work collaboratively with limited funds.
My plan is a Gecko brooch worked entirely in French knots so watch this space!

Yesterday I shared the rose embroidered blue point Siamese cat I was working on, and shortly after, I got an order for a chocolate point with Forget me not embroidery. Yesterday it snowed, but today it's much brighter, so it's nice to be stitching some spring flowers 😊
