After a long busy period for the staff of Fishing Republic Gloucester, we have been able to get a dead bait order in and it has arrived, has been priced and is awaiting customers in the freezer in the Fishing Republic department within Go Outdoors Gloucester.

Fishing Republic Gloucester Needs You!!!

In the very near future, Fishing Republic Gloucester will be hiring a new member for our team!

We will be looking for somebody to work Sunday for 6 hours (10:30-4:30), and people with fishing knowledge are preferable, so you can interact with the wide variety of customers we get in-store and can advise them on anything they need.

We have the following update from Head Office!!

Following the tragic loss of her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, All of the guys at Fishing Republic Gloucester, would like to say that our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal family throughout this turbulent transitional period, and we wish his majesty, King Charles III, the best of luck.

Head office has recently informed us that on Monday 19th September, to coincide with Her Majesty's state funeral, Go Outdoors Gloucester and Fishing Republic Gloucester, will be closed. This is to allow members of staff to be with their friends and family, during this historical moment and to allow us all to wish Her Majesty a final farewell after her near 71-year reign as monarch of our country.

Again our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal family and we apologise for any inconvenience.

Recently, Westlake, Go Outdoors own brand fishing gear, have brought out their very own, First match barrow. It's great quality and very stable, however, there are no instructions in the box (same with most if not all barrows and trolleys), and there is no picture on the box for reference.

So, Fishing Republic Gloucester's Supervisor Ryan, took it upon himself to create a tutorial video on how to build the Westlake Hercules Match Barrow.

Whopping Weekend!!! 🎉

One of our recent customers Billy Head, told us that he was going fishing for the weekend with a mate of his, we told him if he does well let us know and we'll spread the word. He got in contact and here's how he did .....

Last weekend (15th - 17th July), in Temperatures of 30+, with distractions of children diving into the lake and he's selected peg being occupied, Billy preserved to have an amazing weekend. His first bite was at 9.30pm Friday evening, however, when he tried to land the fish, he had the dreaded unhook and lost out on his first opportunity to start off strong.

Within 45 minutes of waking up on Saturday morning, Billy battled to land his first first fish of the trip, a Scale Perfect 16lb Common Carp, within an hour later, he followed it up with a 13lb Common. Later on in the day, the left rod on Billy's set-up, ripped off, the battle it gave him, Billy knew that it was going to be a good one, once he managed to guide to the bank, and weighed it, he found that he'd landed a PB Black Mirror, which was 23.08lb, a few smaller Common's made the day entertaining.

Sunday proved to be as entertaining as Saturday, and it provided Billy with another Dark Mirror, this one weighed in at 21.10lb.
