Hello, 🌿✨ I'm Nicola - the person behind Petal & Moss.

Growing up in the 90s (shhhh!), I spent most of my childhood playing outside - muddy knees, den-building, making potions with mud and flowers, hours lost in nature. Now that I'm a mum myself, I want my child to have those same roots.

That's really where Petal & Moss came from – a love of that kind of unstructured, natural play and a desire to fill our home with toys that leave room for it.

Nature-inspired, open-ended, chosen with care, made to be loved for years, not weeks 🌸

She didn’t need a costume, a script, or a screen. Just a silk and a path that looked like an adventure.

This is what open-ended play looks like in practice – a length of rainbow silk becomes a comet tail, a cape, a river, whatever the story needs in that moment. No instructions, no “right” way to use it. Just a child deciding.

Today it trailed behind her down a woodland path. Next week it might be a picnic blanket for teddies, a puddle to leap over, or a sunset she’s chasing. That’s the quiet magic of toys that don’t tell a story – they let your child tell their own.
