Our Board Games Club meets every Thursday from 19.00-22.00. During Board Games Club, gamers from the local area join us to play titles from our selection of board games and others that people bring in from home. On June 25th, during boardgame club, we'll be hosting the team behind Ludus.
Gareth Lyon is a first time game developer in Farnborough! His game, Ludus, is a Roman gladiatorial theme table top auction game for 2-8 players. Players are governors of Roman provinces seeking to build the strongest team of gladiators they can to win fame, glory and power in Rome. They do this by bidding for cards representing different types of fighters, trying to get the ones they want as cheaply as possible and to force their opponents to overpay for what they need. When you win a card you win control over the game mechanism itself and determine which cards come up for auction next and which get discarded from the game.

Lots of psychology, bluffing and brinksmanship involved making it particularly fun with friends and family.

We'll have a couple copies and the man himself to take us through the game! Limited spots, so sign up for your seat by contacting us through email or on Discord.
