I am a studio potter based in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, UK. I have been deeply immersed in ceramics all my adult life.

I also offer pottery lessons across all aspects of the making and firing process. I run specialist pottery throwing courses too.

A few highlights from my stand at the Only Clay Exhibition in Sheffield this weekend. 🏺
It was lovely to meet so many people who stopped by to chat about the work, and to be surrounded by such an inspiring collection of ceramic artists. Thank you to everyone who visited and supported .

There’s something very satisfying about taking a lump of clay and slowly turning it into something useful. Every piece starts with the same simple ingredients: clay, hands, a bit of patience and a lot of time at the wheel.

No two pieces ever turn out exactly the same, and I think that’s part of the appeal of handmade pottery.

I’m delighted to be taking part in Only Clay at Kelham Island Museum in next weekend.
The exhibition brings together 50+ ceramic artists from across the UK.

I’ll have a selection of my own ceramics there, and I’m really looking forward to being part of it.

It’s often the little details that make a piece. The texture beneath your fingertips. The way the glaze catches the light. Those tiny variations that remind you each piece has been made by hand.
No two pieces are ever quite the same and that’s part of the beauty of handmade ceramics. 😀

The Houghton Art Exhibition is underway today, and I’m delighted to be here with my pottery alongside some brilliant local artists. If you haven’t made it along today, don’t worry, I’ll be back again tomorrow, Sunday 4th October, from 10am–4pm.

There’s lots to see, with original paintings, prints and pottery for sale, plus tea, coffee and cake.

There’s something rather lovely about this time of year. 🍂
The evenings get darker, the kettle goes on, and suddenly you’re looking for those little things that make home feel extra cosy. A handmade piece of pottery can do just that, something beautiful, useful and made to be enjoyed every day.

So light a candle, make a cuppa and get cosy. ☕️

From a lump of clay to a finished piece. 🏺
One of the best things about ceramics is that no two pieces are ever quite the same. Small variations in shape, texture and glaze are part of what makes handmade pottery special.
Each piece is made individually in the studio, with the finished result only revealed after firing.
That little bit of unpredictability is all part of the magic of making with clay.

There’s a lot more to making a piece of pottery than what you see when it’s finished.
From preparing the clay and throwing or hand-building, to trimming, drying, glazing and firing, every stage plays its part.
