Thunder, lightning, four double takes and 20 carp on the bank – it’s fair to say Harv Smith had a quiet weekend at Johnson's Lake! 😂🔥

Harv arrived just before the storm hit and had barely managed to get the bivvy up before the heavens opened. Once the thunder and lightning had rolled through, it was time to get down to business.

Fishing at around 70 yards, Harv started the session with 10 Spombs of bait, and within a couple of hours the left-hander absolutely melted off. After a lengthy battle, a stunning 30lb mirror slipped over the net cord – and that proved to be just the start of the carnage! 💥

The bites came thick and fast, including an incredible FOUR double takes! One hectic 15-minute spell produced a pair of mid-twenties, before the pick of the session arrived in the shape of a magnificent 32lb 12oz common.

By the time the dust had settled – and after very little sleep – Harv had amassed a phenomenal 20-carp haul comprising two thirties, three 28-pounders, two 27-pounders, three mid-twenties, two low-twenties and eight doubles.

Right at the heart of the action were Bug mini dumbbells, once again doing exactly what Harv has come to expect from them. 🐛🎯

💥 THIRTIES FRENZY ON S7! 🔥

With the other half away on holiday, Matt Whitworth decided there was only one sensible way to spend the spare time – get himself back down the syndicate for another go!

After locating a few fish comfortably within catapult range, Matt sent out three solid bags containing Crayfish Mini Mix pellets, a few squirts of S7 Amino Smoke and 15mm S7 Corker wafters on the business end.

The area was then treated to 15mm and 20mm S7 freezer boilies soaked in Red Shrimp Hydro, and the response came in the shape of a cracking 35lb mirror. 💥

That should have been enough to scratch the itch... but we all know how that goes!

Matt was back for another crack at the weekend and enjoyed an even better result, banking four more carp, including a double take and fish weighing 27lb, 33lb 6oz, 35lb 14oz and a superb 38lb on the nose! 🔥

Two of those came from a baited spot containing chopped S7 freezer boilies and Crayfish Maxi Mix pellets, all loaded with Red Shrimp Hydro and S7 Amino Smoke.

The other two were the result of reacting to what was in front of him, casting his tried-and-tested Crayfish Mini Mix solid bags and S7 Corker wafters directly at showing fish.

🔥 THREE SIXTIES IN 27-FISH CUBIC ILES TRIP! 🇫🇷

Zak Hayes and friends enjoyed a cracking trip to the notoriously tricky Cubic Iles, with the group accounting for 27 carp, including three sixties – an impressive return from a water that certainly doesn’t give them up easily.

For Zak, though, it looked like being one of those weeks... True to form, he somehow managed to watch the action unfold around him while remaining bite-less for virtually the entire trip. But when his opportunity finally arrived on the very last night, it was certainly worth waiting for!

Zak’s patience was rewarded with an absolute brute of a mirror weighing 61lb 7oz! 💥

Just to make sure the blank was well and truly forgotten, he followed it up a mid-thirty.

The group had been fishing over large beds of Secret 7 and Bug, creating plenty of attraction and keeping the carp visiting their areas throughout the week.

With crayfish absolutely hammering conventional hookbaits, they were forced to adapt and rely predominantly on plastic hookbaits to ensure they remained fishing effectively.

It really isn’t over until that final rod comes in!

🐛 WHERE THERE’S A WILL, THERE’S A WAY! 🔥

Two venues, two very different challenges and three cracking carp to 36lb for 16-year-old Will Galati!

First up was Will’s maiden visit to the shallow and heavily w**ded Ladywell, where finding somewhere presentable was the first challenge. After some searching, he discovered a clean gravel patch amongst the w**d at 13 wraps and decided that was where the middle rod was going.

Will baited with a mixture of tiger nuts, crushed and whole Bug boilies and SLK boilies, all given an added boost of Bug Liquid Food, before presenting a Corker wafter in a solid bag over the top. 🐛

That one rod went on to produce both bites of the session. First into the net was the known fish Bez at 36lb, followed by a fantastic 30lb mirror. The latter certainly didn't surrender easily, burying itself in the w**d several times before Will eventually managed to extract it after a tense battle. 💪

Then it was on to Rib Valley, where Will found carp showing heavily on the end of a strong wind. With fish “showing like dolphins” over the area, he positioned a solid bag at 19 wraps, this time opting for a Bug Corker dumbbell wafter and just a scattering of Bug boilies rather than piling in the bait.

Just 30 minutes later, the rod absolutely screamed off! 💥 What followed was a chaotic 20-minute battle that wiped out Will's other two rods before a cracking 29lb common finally hit the net.

🤝 SOLD ON SLK AT FIRST ATTEMPT! ✅

Trying a new bait for the first time always comes with that little bit of uncertainty, but Aiden Claridge certainly won’t be having any second thoughts about SLK after this result!

Aiden headed to his southern syndicate for a 40-hour session and decided it was time to put his faith in our dedicated big-fish bait for the very first time.

Fishing at around 50 yards, Aiden introduced approximately 3kg of SLK boilies, with 20mm SLK Hard Harders deployed over the top.

Any pre-session nerves about changing bait soon disappeared, as Aiden put together a three-fish catch, featuring a beautifully scaled 38lb mirror, plus a brace of 40lb mirrors! 🤯

Three bites, three big mirrors and two forties during his very first session using SLK. Not a bad way to build confidence in a bait!

With autumn now approaching and SLK already producing results like these, Aiden understandably can’t wait to see what the coming months have in store. 🍂

🐛 BOFFIN'S BUG BANQUET BRINGS IN THE BIG 'UNS!

📌 Linear Fisheries, Oxfordshire

There was no need for Rob Boffin to over-complicate things when he turned up for a session on Linear's GUYS syndicate water, Gaunts Lake.

Rob picked out a gravel spot in open water and committed all three rods to the area, initially introducing 4kg of whole and crushed Bug boilies to pull the fish in.

Over the top, each rod was armed with a Bug Corker wafter on a fluorocarbon D-rig – and it didn’t take long for the plan to start paying off!

The carp arrived steadily throughout the session, with Rob keeping the spot topped up with around 1kg of bait after every capture, ensuring there was always plenty waiting for the next visitor. 🐛

First came a 28lb 8oz mirror, before things stepped up considerably with a cracking fish of 38lb 8oz.

Then came the biggest of the lot – a superb 39lb 8oz mirror to round off a fantastic 24 hours! 🙌

💥 WHITWORTH THE WAIT! 🔥

Life might have been a little hectic lately for Matt Whitworth, but he’s still managed to squeeze in a few nights on his syndicate and has been getting the some good results!

Across a handful of sessions during August, Matt put together a cracking run of carp, banking fish of 22lb 8oz, 24lb, 29lb 8oz and 32lb 12oz. 💥

With limited time available, Matt kept his approach consistent and put his faith firmly in Secret 7.

Each capture fell to a snowman presentation consisting of an 18mm S7 Hard Ho**er topped with a 15mm S7 Corker wafter, fished over a combination of chopped S7 freezer boilies and Crayfish Maxi Mix pellets, with everything given a coating of Red Shrimp Hydro and S7 Amino Smoke. 🦐🔥

That combination produced the goods time and again, culminating in the pick of the bunch – a cracking 32lb 12oz mirror.

Harv Smith was certainly made to keep busy during a social weekend at Willow Park Fisheries, landing six fish from eight bites! 💥

Harv put his faith in a solid-bag approach, loading each bag with Crayfish Mini Mix pellets and using Bug Corker dumbbell wafters for hookbaits.

Harv established his area with a bed of Bug boilies and Crayfish Maxi Mix pellets, before giving the lot an additional hit of attraction with Bug Hydro Spod Syrup. 🐛

The carp clearly fancied what was on offer, with some stunning Willow Park carp gracing his net.

Fifteen-year-old Jayden Grace enjoyed a cracking session on his North West syndicate, banking a brace of thirties to 37lb! 💥

Jayden used a boat to position his rigs at around 40 yards, where he presented SLK Corker wafters on combi rigs over an area baited with Bug boilies.

The approach produced not one but two belting fish of 37lb and 33lb 14oz.

Yet another example of SLK and The Bug working brilliantly side by side.

🍁 DON’T FORGET YOUR COAT THIS AUTUMN!

A very successful additive at this time of the year is Krill Meal, a key component of our instant fishmeal bait, Secret 7.

This fine, highly versatile powder can be used in anything from stick and bag mixes to spod mixes and method feeders. You are only limited by your imagination with this one.

Krill Meal is a superb fish attractor and its effectiveness is only hampered by the fact its light properties mean you can’t get enough of the stuff in the bait. Krill Meal’s rough texture also helps add to the leakage properties of your bait via osmosis, meaning your bait’s chosen attractors can easily flood out. Its smooth, strong crustacean aroma is something the carp just can’t get enough off, and it’s also a superb source of protein, lipids, carotenoids and anti-oxidants.

Top tip: Coat your boilies in S7 Hydro Spod Syrup or S7 Amino Smoke, or a combination of the two, and then cover them in Krill Meal to create a nice, slow-leakage wrap around your baits.
