Next up this lovely Lace Acela similar to fender acoustasonic for a set up.
High action and not much available adjustment at the saddle meant a neck shim which sorted this into a great playing guitar.

Gold hardware upgrade for this Harley Benton fretless bass. These instruments really are superb value for money they must sell millions of them to be able to build them so cheaply.

Bit of fishing around inside this Yamaha to retrieve the output socket that had disappeared inside. Also had very high action so with a few tweaks is now much easier to play.

High action brought this lovely t-bird to the bench. On closer inspection the string tension was lifting the bridge bushings probably caused by low humidity.
Always good to know the humidity% in your house as it can vary extremely at different times of year. A little digital hygrometer is all you need to keep track of this. 40-60% is where you want to be.

This 70s Gibson L6 returned to as near old spec as possible replacing the di marzio neck and the seymour bridge pickups with new gibson 496R in the neck and 500T at the bridge.

Badly painted headstock let this tele down. Tru oil rosewood stain makes it look very like the George Harrison tele.

Hayman Comet Restoration

This beauty from the 70s had been lying unused in a friends house for a number of years. It had no bridge, wrong neck and a microphonic pickup. I did quite like the matt black a previous owner had done but decided to go with a gloss finish. Wax potted the pickup and replaced the neck with an old/new stock Shergold neck that just happened to be for sale on ebay at the time.
Shergold were producing these for Dallas Arbiter under the Hayman brand until 1975 then started using the old stock to launch their first instruments under their own brand name so couldnt believe it when 1 came up they are extremely rare. It has a zero fret which makes for a good low action. Installed pin locking tuners and a wilkinson bridge later to be replaced with the original coffin shaped one another rare find.
