🚗💥 Extremely busy morning, think it was our busiest & biggest yet!
However with that comes yet more issues. It seems people are very entitled, rude & somewhat ignorant, we work VERY hard trying to sort everyone out & have everything organised, but when people cant or wont listen or adhere to rules in place it makes our jobs impossible.
We are very disappointed that the problems at gates early on was caused by buyers & public trying to get on so early before 7am.
Our priority is to get the sellers queue in & off the road, for which we have allowed half hour difference in entry times for this.
Now you can see what problems is caused by arriving too early & trying to push into sellers queues.
We have HAD to make changes to the car boot times & shutting the pedestrian gates in order to maintain our license to run. If not we will lose the car boot altogether - no one wants that.
Just asking for more common sense, understanding of the rules & patience please 🙏
My staff are not just random volunteers, we are a family - husband, wife, son & daughter & son in law, & our long term friends.. We all give up our Sundays (& Sat nights for set up) get up at stupid o clock, We put on not just a good car boot but add attractions like today with movie cars McQueen, Trotters car, Scooby doo mystery machine, Characters & Mascots, Classic Cars, free treats with characters & classic cars , free oranges or perks for sellers - these are free for everyone, except us as we pay to put these on for all to enjoy.
When you run a large event there will always be some issue or another but please be a bit more courteous, kind and respectful to those who are trying to run a great community car boot for all ages.
Or please do come and help us and volunteer each Sunday !
