We used to be a community Thrift Shop based in centre 4, we are no longer there as we were told that the disused shower room we were in had been allocated to another business. We were told that we didn’t have a contract, which we didn’t need as we were community sponsored but that fact was ignored. We were told that we could go upstairs in a shared room where we would only have been able to have one rail. The room would not have been private or secure meaning that our goods would have been pilfered. So as we said that the shared room would not be suitable we were told to leave by the end of January. We are hoping in the future to get another place for our Thrift Shop and gathering place, there has been a hold up to all our hopes and plans as I was waiting for surgery, the surgery was postponed a couple of times but I did end up having surgery two or three months ago and am now doing well. We are still hoping, dreaming looking forward and planning for ‘Our Thrift Shop’ in time to come. This is our community and we want our community Thrift Shop to stay in OUR community, we haven’t lost sight of the dream or the community it’s very special to us.
