🧱 A slightly different project completed for a very old friend who’s in the middle of a full scale house renovation 🏠

He loves the look of exposed brickwork and asked if I could make the pointing look as old and rough as possible rather than a perfectly neat modern finish.

To achieve that, I mixed sharp sand in with the building sand and cement, then sponged everything back to leave a more rustic, aged appearance 👌

As part of the job, I also moved the opening over and built a new brickwork wrap around the existing wall to create more of a feature within the room.

The blockwork panels are for some sort of wall panelling, but even he hasn’t quite decided exactly what he’s doing with them yet 😂

I always enjoy jobs that are a little bit different and let me get creative rather than doing everything by the book.

A bespoke play station built for a local nursery 🪵🎨🌿

This was my first time working with them, so a big thank you for the opportunity. Hopefully the first of many projects together in the future! 😊

I’m sure the children (and maybe the staff too 👀😂) will have plenty of fun with this one.🙌

I don’t think I’ll ever build a set of steps without spending 3–5 working days scratching my head halfway through the job 😂

They always look simple until you start working out the levels and dimensions then suddenly you’re questioning every life decision you’ve ever made. 🫠😬

Worth it in the end though, really pleased with how these came out 👌🏼🏗️

Not every project is gates and fencing! 🚲🚧

These custom built road signs were made for a local nursery’s bike track, giving the children their very own mini road network to explore.🛑

We also supplied bespoke trellis planters to help box in the area and create a safe, dedicated space for learning through play.💭✅

Today’s gate install wasn’t exactly working with ideal conditions…😬

Both walls were leaning, the opening wasn’t consistent, and the existing paving added another obstacle. After a bit of careful measuring, some strategic hinge positioning and plenty of help from the planer, we got a perfect fit.🫡

From flimsy to fit for purpose! 🔨

This garden divider originally looked the part from a distance, but a closer look told a very different story. The fence had been built using roofing lats which were already starting to twist deteriorate, and badly splinter, the gate… well, let’s just say it was one of the worst examples of gate building we’ve come across! 😅

Poorly constructed, no bracing, out of square, and generally hanging on by hope more than craftsmanship.

We stripped out the old lats and replaced them with stronger, cleaner eased edge planed timber throughout, then built a brand new gate that actually does what a gate is supposed to do, opens, closes, stays straight, and matches the rest of the fence properly.

The result is a much stronger, longer lasting finish that looks far cleaner and will stand the test of time.

Some jobs require a bit of travelling, but they’re always worth it… this one happened to be all the way next door to my house! 🚚😂 Not often you can leave for work and arrive 10 seconds later.

This recent delivery included a double-sided water play wall, a simple double play pit, and a large outdoor chalkboard which we mounted on the existing fence, creating a fun, interactive space for little ones to explore, create and get messy!💯

Built from smooth pressure treated timber and designed for hours of outdoor play, this setup is perfect for encouraging imagination, sensory development and active learning.💭
