Hopefully this info will help the many kind folks selling there Marshall Capri amps that were made in the 70s ,
( often mistaken as 60s ) Please don’t think that just because you have read info in the Marshall book it’s correct ….. in this case it’s wrong
Obviously the serial number most commonly C ( 1971 ) is a good place to start as well as caps dates and speaker codes,
Many 100s were made and often come up for sale dating 1970 /71
Here’s the interesting bit that nobody ever mentioned or few people know
Flip the chasis over and the paper inspection label is clearly visible and on all the Capri amps I’ve seen and had pass through all
ARE CLEARLY DATED ,
here’s an early example no 395 with a high serial number and ( A ) date code making it 1970.
As confirmed on the Marshall factory inspection label
Hope this helps
