The office environment as we know it, is completely changing all businesses should make it safe and compliant for your staff and customers to return to work.
We have read through the entire government document on returning to work in offices and call centres and categorised the advice into these key areas:
Social Distancing & Protection:
• All desks and work stations should remain 2 meters apart.
• Where the 2 meter rule cannot be adhered to, offices are encouraged to implement separation screens or back-to-back seating or side-to-side seating to ensure a safe distance is maintained.
• Avoid using of hotdesks and, where not possible, for example, call centres or training facilities, cleaning and sanitising workstations between different occupants should take place when equipment is shared.
• Maintain 2m social distancing wherever possible, including while arriving at and departing from work, while in work, and when travelling between sites.
• Ensure all visitors in and out of the building is logged and documented.
• Advise visitors of your COVID-19 procedure, prior to them attending the building and try to keep visitors to one at a time where possible.
• Provide additional storage for workers, clothes, bags and belongings.
• Avoid using touch pads for access to entry points along with turnstiles and pass check in points. Where security admission is required, maintain the 2 meter social distancing standard.
• Implement screens into reception areas to separate visitors from those in the building.
• Ensure you define entry and exit points where appropriate in the building Trying to keep these separate will reduce contamination between those entering and exiting the building.
• Where possible provide additional parking or facilities such as bike racks to help people walk, run, or cycle to work.
