Me? Easily distracted? I have no idea what you mean! Who needs food when the napkins are embroidered? 😂😂😂

A couple of pictures from our trip to London last week, mainly to prove that I did actually listen to the music at the Prom and wasn’t just there to admire the curtains at the Albert Hall. 😂

Scroll along and you’ll also find a very rare sighting of the lesser-spotted husband.

We were so high up I could practically see the roof from underneath, I did feel slightly dizzy looking down… but the view was incredible.

I still can’t quite get my head round how huge it is.

What was the worst thing you found in your house? 😂

Our list is quite long…

This weekend, my lovely brother (looking very fetching in those fantastic overalls!) helped me replace the cellar windows.

And then we discovered that the old ones were literally being held in with expanding foam.

No screws
No bolts
Just foam🤦‍♂️

A couple of kicks from and they came straight out — which, admittedly, made removing them very easy! 😂

The new windows are now properly secured with bolts and we’ve checked all the other 25 windows in the house. Thankfully they’re all fine.
Apparently it was just the cellar windows that had been installed using the “she’ll be right” method. 🤣

I can now add window fitting to my ever-growing list of skills acquired from YouTube tutorials.

What’s the strangest bit of DIY bodging you’ve discovered in your house? 👇

Happy Thursday everyone ❤️❤️❤️

Yesterday I had a flying visit to in London and while everyone else was looking at the art, I was busy studying the curtains.

The pelmets, the trims, the proportions... every room was packed with inspiration.

It got me wondering:
If money was no object, would you have curtains like these in your home, or do you prefer something more simple and contemporary?
Let me know below. 👇

I absolutely love making pelmets, cutting and sanding all the wood is such fun. Getting all the details right makes sure they have a flawless finish.

David and I had a date night Opera North's The Sound of Music , it was absolutely brilliant, there's one week left before it closes. Seeing a musical with a full orchestra is such a treat!

I sometimes wish I could tell my 21-year-old self not to worry quite so much. The journey wasn't always straightforward, but somehow every twist and turn brought me here. Thank you to everyone who's trusted me to make something beautiful for their homes over the last 11 years – it really does mean the world.

I've seen so many posts about the beautiful garden that's been revealed beneath the dry lawns at Chatsworth House, but I've got my own little bit of archaeology revealed here at the lodge! 🤣🤣

The old gravel drive once swept down to the carriage entrance of the house just down the hill and now that the lawn has dried out, you can clearly see the edge of it again.

This is the first year I've let the grass go brown. It used so much water trying to keep it green, so I've decided to let nature take its course instead.

The last clip is of the amazing bees, who are absolutely loving the sunshine and the lavender. 🐝💜

This is a big milestone! Rather than ripping things out, I've actually fitted something in place. Hanging a radiator on a very uneven stone wall has taken nearly all day, but I feel like I'm winning now 🎉🎉🎉
