Both of us were born in the 80's and grew up in the 90's, so we remember the Woolworth's Pick 'n' Mix days vividly and this is where our love of Pick 'n' Mix was born. As adults we've never grown out of our love of sweets....I mean, who
wants to grow up anyway, am I right? And so when deciding which industry to go into when starting our small business, confectionary was a no-brainer. Growing up on a council estate, sweets and treats were the absolute highlight of the day. Running home to beg for 10p for a '10p mixup' (hence the name Mixups, see what we did there?) the minute you heard the sweet, sweet jingle of the ice cream truck music in the distance. Or in Lynne's case, standing at the back of the ice cream truck queue and shouting 'does anyone want to buy me some sweeties?'. That's one way to do it, right? Nowadays we don't have to wait for the ice cream truck to roll around to get our sweet fix, we can just jump online and order enough pick 'n' mix delights to last us a month (month = a day. If you don't eat a month's worth of sweets in a day then you're doing it wrong!) Thank you internet! For us sweets are about childhood memories and nostalgia and we want to bring this to you and your family and help invoke those memories and feelings of nostalgia and create new ones with our selection of old and new favourites.
