All of us here at Music Mania are incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Paul “Woody” Wood.

Woody was such a well-known and much-loved part of the local theatre community, with so many people knowing him from his years at the Theatre Royal, Hanley, and The Regent Theatre/Victoria Hall, where he recently celebrated 25 years.

He was also very much part of our own Music Mania family through our annual pantomime at The Mitchell Arts Centre with TLC Panto, writing the scripts that helped bring so much fun and laughter to the stage each year.

For many, Woody was also that familiar, friendly face at the stage door. Someone who was simply part of the fabric of local theatre.

He will be missed by so many, and it’s hard to imagine the local theatre scene without him.

Our love and thoughts are with Woody’s family, friends and everyone who knew and worked with him.
