A little back update… WOW. 😅
I feel like I’ve spent the last few weeks huffing and puffing saying, “my back hurts”, but I genuinely don’t think I’ve been able to put into words just how much pain I’ve actually been in. Today I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere, YAY!
This morning I went to the GP, who prescribed me some stronger pain relief and muscle relaxers to help with what I’m dealing with. Picking those up tomorrow 🤞🏼
Then I went to an osteopath…
And OH EM GEE. 😂
After a little chat and examining me, he said he could completely understand why I’ve been in so much pain. My back and neck are incredibly tight and restricted, and he believes I’ve got a mixture of old injuries from a car accident back in 2011 alongside newer trauma. Emotional AND physical trauma, obvs. 😅
Now here’s the part that made me LOLLLLL.
Sooooo apparently one of the contributing factors could quite literally be… our little Wynny ffs🤣
He asked if I’d been pushed or kicked at home. This was after I’d explained a little about Wynny and her additional needs. I stopped to think for a second and a LIGHTBULB went off. 💡 FACCK
Anyone who knows Wynny knows she’s a little force of nature. She regularly launches herself into me, pushes me from behind without warning, and a few weeks ago gave me an almighty kick with the ball of her heel straight into my back.
It genuinely hadn’t even crossed my mind that any of that could be relevant because it’s just become part of everyday life.
So, in a nutshell, apparently my 7 year old may have contributed to my whiplash. 😂 You can’t write this s**t.
After my assessment, he worked through some of the muscles in my neck and then did some proper old-school manipulation and honestly… the instant relief was remarkable.
I stood back up and I COULD BREATHE BETTER. It was insane.
I hadn’t realised just how restricted everything had become until that moment. I’m definitely sore now, which I expected after treatment, but I walked out feeling validated and more mobile.
I’m still continuing with the medical route and my MSK referral because I know the numbness in my arms and everything else still needs properly investigating, but today felt incredibly validating.
After feeling like a broken record saying how much pain I’ve been in, having someone physically assess me and say, “I can see why you’re hurting,” was so nice to hear finally!
So tonight’s prescription is…
A hot bath 🛁
A cinema date with my pals 🎬
And maybe a medicinal Midnight Margarita🍸👌🏼
A few more sessions with the osteopath, my MSK appointment and taking things a little easier, and hopefully I’ll be back in the game. 💪🏻
P.S. Does anyone know how I go about making a whiplash compensation claim against a 7 year old?
She’s got approximately £14.62 in her money box and I’m prepared to take this ALL THE WAY. 😂😂😂
