A beautiful large Tiger’s Eye Crystal Tumblestone from South Africa. Tiger's Eye is a very popular and very cheap gemstone. Some of the best tigers eye comes from South Africa. Tigers eye is a pseudomorph of compact Quartz after the fibrous mineral Crocidolite. Its formed when the Quartz takes over and dissolves the Crocodolite, leaving the Quartz in a finely fibrous and chatoyant form. This has been polished to a high standard.

Iolite Crystal Specimen from Brazil. Iolite is a gem quality form of Cordierite which is known for its colour shifting qualities. Iolite can be seen as a light-dark blue which can turn to an almost black colour depending on the angle you view it, ilthis is called trichroism. Iolite has also been known under the name of water sapphire. This specimen exhibits these qualities and has a very strong blue colour. This comes in a labelled display case
